Shane's Babblings

Every so often I sit up awake at night not being able to sleep. Various reasons come to mind why I might or might not be able to sleep. I think this one has to do with the fact that we are so close to actually getting the house. It's way cool, an a bit overwhelming at the same time. A few of my good friends are extrememly stoked to see that Liz and I are settling down here in the valey but at the same time are like....dude I thought you might move. I am very encouraged each day I go to work. Some days I get rather frustrated at the mentality that exists in Higher Education, but most times I am rather excited. There are sooo many new and exciting things that are in process of occurring. I am involved in too many things to just walk away. Sometimes I have a massive impact and influence on the direction of the University and other times I wish they'd just take a moment and listen to reason (whether from me or another source).

We do our final walk through today. Then tomorrow we sign and the home is ours. Then starts the moving phase. Well, our little monster is up and whining. Need to go get him.

also, got MacFusion and ntfs-3g stablized on my MBP last night. took me a bit to get it done as most of the info on it was backwards and written for dual booters and linux distros. Once I found the Mac syntax libraries I stumbled trough fairly quickly. Now I have full read/write to my USB attached hard drive appliances. Watch out world, I'm close....
