Tilting the Void

everything looks perfect from far away...

Rammstein: Amerika

Whoa. Germans are weeeeeird, but man they can thrash. Till Lindemann is...well, terrifying.

Note: Do not yootoob the Rammstein vid for (work safe Wiki-link to explain)Man Gegen Man, unless you want sick lulz. It is unintentionally hilarious, especially if you've ever been a fan of Metalocalypse. I kept thinking of Nathan Explosion there. LOL.

Bad seed.The irony, it burns!

Rammstein is uber cool
I think the genre is offically called "industrial metal". They have a lot of cool songs, and I like the way teh have a very full sound.

"Mann Gegen Mann" is a weird story... I've heard about it from a friend, but haven't seen it until now... Oh boy.

I made it about 1/2 way through the vid before I started laughing uncontrollably.

However, the video for Mein Teil just shut me right up. Terrifying, but disturbingly compelling at the same time. :eyes:

Or Rosenrot. Jeeze.

I'd also add that most Americans have no idea...

Yeah, those are weird videos... They like to bring strong emotions to their stuff, and often those are taboos more or less.

Speaking of videos, these are some of the videos I know from earlier:
Sonne is a classic video, also has a weird twist to it.
Du Hast and Ich Will are cinematic.
I also liked the Feuer Frei vid, though it is more of a classic form of a video for a song for a movie. But it sounds good, and the guy really looks threatening.

There is also a lot of songs with monsters and similar phenomena. Like Mutter, a really powerfull song. Sonne, mentioned above is about vampires, and so it "Mein Herz Brennt". They have a lot of weird lyrics and so much great music and compositions... Not knowing what they are singing most of the time just emphasises the music

Yeah, I know--I had to go google translate Rosenrot, and it's pretty good, actually. Part of the fascination for me, though, is the language, which just seems to go with the sound.

Which you just said, of course

I saw translated lyrics at several videos on youtube, maybe they are a bit better than the automated google translation. I also saw translations on several lyrics sites, so try googleing the translation instead of google translating. (this just soudns whacky :D )

No, I get it :D
