Tilting the Void

Our minds are porous and forgetfulness seeps in--J.L. Borges

1:30 am. Do you know where your anxiety is living?

Argh. Can't sleep. Woke up freaking out about the art show in September. YAY FUN! Only two more months to worry myself into a state of catatonia.

That's astoundingly paradoxical, and at the same time, completely comprehensible.

 I can feel you....
I have anxiety of what I will find in my house after 2 years of winterizing,
if my water pipes are all broken,
if my new balconies after the termite catastrophe look good, if my phone is connected in case of emergency so I can dial 911(no cell works there), if my cable is connected to keep the teens busy,
if my refrigerator is still running for our food,
if.............. well you get the idea.
Waking up with nausea didn't help me much these past two weeks,
so now I just take 3 minutes of deep breaths,
hug myself in my mind
and say I did more difficult things than this,
I will be fine!
The same with you Melissa,
You have achieved great things so far,
you will be not only fine but famous after September and maybe rich too!
I love you,
see for your msg in my last post(coming up tomorrow night)...

Heh, Matthew--I was just wishing I was catatonic when I wrote that.

And thanks, Angeliki--and hope all goes well with the house!

It's just odd to me how, just when you need energy to complete something, the stress of not having it done incapacitates you.

You generically, not you in particular.

Oh, I don't engage my brain for that - just the opposite. If I start thinking, my brain freezes up.
