Tarantula!

Well--I've done it! I've become the owner of a Lasiodora parahybana spiderling, otherwise known as a Brazilian Salmon Pink Birdeater. She's only about 1" diameter right now--very small, but I just had to post this because she's molting right now! I'm extremely excited and impressed, such that mere text cannot imbue.

I hope I don't do anything stupid to hurt her, either.

Watch this space for arachnidian updates.

Question:Before the molt

Why Do you sleep with her? I can see if you roll over...
Wouldn't Greg have a problem with this also?

Nah. He's suprisingly modern when it comes to sleeping with spiders.

Tarantula... I thought you said tarantella.

It sounds quite cool. Where're all the pictures?

Ugh. Badly done. More to come, though! She's still pretty small.

waay cool.

I congratulate you on this journey into the arachnophile fold.

Thanks! I only hope I'm not killing her. She's been in her burrow for a couple of days now, but unless the crickets are escaping when I'm not looking, she's been eating them...
