Opera Mini 6.1 silent update for S60

It has been just over 2 weeks since Opera Mini 6.1 for S60 was launched. Today we are pleased to announce the first update! smile

The update includes the following improvements:
  • Input mode indicator is back on 2nd edition devices.
  • Correct default font for CJK installations.
  • Better hardware keyboard support on touch devices.
  • Full screen keyboard is now used for RTL text input on Symbian^3/Anna.
  • Improved support for Nokia X7-00 device.
  • Stability fixes and minor improvements.

Thanks for the update. Please try to use font installation instead bitmaping in the very next update, as it makes pages too heavy in size and replaces opera mini's data consuming status into vice-versa...

@prince19in Kritrim means for those fonts which are not supported by a mobile itself, Opera should use real fonts like Bolt Browser does instead of Bitmap Fonts used by Opera Mini. I agree @Kritrim.

Have so much complaining to do 'bout opera mini 6 for symbian. Open about 6 tabs or browse for some 20 minutes and you're unable to open any more pages. You just click the link, it brings up the status bar as if it'll load and then, it goes back to status quo. It just won't load any more pages. Atimes, I get so pissed off that I annoyingly rapidly click the link repeatedly and then the browser seems to pick up again and open the link. At other times, it still does not respond and I have to exit re-start the app before it starts loading pages again and then the problem repeats itself again. So the vicious cycle goes on and on. It's just soooo annoying.

Another problem with this opera mini for symbian - occassionally after launching the application and you try to open pages, it just hangs the status bar in there and just does nothing even when internet connectivity is quite good. At such times, I've had so resort to using UC Web which suprisingly, will open at breathtaking speeds at such trying moments for opera mini for symbian. Opera management, address these issues cos they seem to have remain unaddressed and is making me to have a second thought about the reliability of the software.

I'm using OperaMini 6.1.25580 on a Nokia N95 8GB.

What happened to the copy and paste feature? Also, I can no longer open a link in a new tab and have the same loading problems as Xander Excel above has.

What's the dealio? Have I got to go back to OperaMini 6.1(whatever the previous version)?
