Opera Mobile is a full browser with client-side support for JavaScript, HTML5, Flash & WebGL (Android Only). In Opera Mini, the browser engine is running on Opera's servers. Web pages are transcoded and compressed up to 90% before being downloaded to the device, making Opera Mini lightning fast and also much cheaper if you are paying per megabyte.

Big thanks to all of you for your constant support. You are the ones that keep us going so please continue to give us feedback on the forum.

Also please report issues using 'Report a problem' tool in Help (add as many details as possible no matter how irrelevant you think they might be. Especially: ROM you have, any modifications you did to the system, etc.)

Happy browsing,
The Opera Mobile Team

Great to see the performance speeded up again, WebGL had been painfully slow at launch, however now @Tojiro's mobile optimized WebGL Quake3 demo works well http://media.tojicode.com/q3bsp/?mobile=1
Any chance of adding SOCKS proxy support in the future?

Hi, thank you for the amazing update!

My TOP1 wish for Opera Mobile is an option to set 'column stickness intensity'. Do you plan to add something like that?

NNNorbi Thursday, March 8, 2012 2:11:06 PM

When I download Opera from m.opera.com it still shows 12.00. Is it the updated version? I've got Nokia N8 with Belle.

Aashish Chokhanimalerocks Thursday, March 8, 2012 2:32:08 PM

When I try to download from m.opera.com or using the PC, I am only offered 12.00. 12.01 does not seem to have been uploaded yet.

SergejsUsergejsu Thursday, March 8, 2012 7:33:32 PM

For me on Nokia C06-00 v.40 this update does not go at all: when I try to load a single website like desktop Twitter, with OM running as only app on the phone, with desktop agent, then it always crushes before being able to load a site with message that No enough memory Close other apps. I tried to follow with Active Files what's going on - so it says Base memory 4.1MB, allocated 4.0MB, but then it just crashes - consuming out of 44MB Free Ram ca.42MB, as after crash just 2.7MB Free RAM is left, the rest obviously leaked memory.

Kim Jong-Ilkoyamaneko Saturday, March 10, 2012 12:33:02 PM

I only see 12.00 version at m.opera.com. Is it 12.01 nonetheless or should it state 12.01 in filename/version information? What is build number of Symbian 12.01 version?

Aritraaet419 Saturday, March 10, 2012 2:12:01 PM

still showing Opera Mobile 12.00 on http://m.opera.com for download. No 12.0.1

Khaled KhalilKhaled-Khalil Saturday, March 10, 2012 3:26:57 PM

@NNNorbi @malerocks @shani15121472 @koyamaneko @aet419, It is 12.0.1 not 12.01 yet, so you will find it in place of 12.00, it was updated just one day before this post.
During the installation you will realize that it is the new build.

kashifkanwal Sunday, March 11, 2012 6:01:40 AM

i like opera,thnx a lot.

Kim Jong-Ilkoyamaneko Sunday, March 11, 2012 11:01:55 AM

So is it that hard to say that buid number is 2169? Build number is quite definite way to define correct version.

Sagar Ghoshsghosh20 Sunday, March 11, 2012 3:27:28 PM

Awesome, it's great to use the new version, opera 12, it's faster, smarter, better and more user-friendly than the previous versions...!! smile

opra mobile version 12 isnt coming in useful for my Nokia E5-00. It is always getting hung up. reboot problem.sad

petitejam Monday, March 19, 2012 2:34:52 AM

I'm sorry but the latest vers. is awful and I'm running Opera Mobile 12 on my Samsung Galaxy S2. It crashes constantly whenever you go to any page that has a lot of comments or text on it. For example forum/blog type websites. And it doesn't load from external apps like eg. links from Twitter refuse to open. How can I downgrade back to 11? I think I need to wait for an update to get rid of all the bugs before updating. Although the new speed dial is pretty cool.

===Update===
Just did a clean install of the .apk and now it runs perfectly. Super fast, mobile browsing as it should be.
Just with the speed dial images, any way we can set what the picture is. It takes the screenshot of the top of the website and sometimes that's Ads which doesn't make for an indicative bookmark. sad

great news!! but when is opera mini 7 coming for android??

NoFanboyNofanboy Monday, March 19, 2012 10:13:50 AM

Working very well so far on a Lenovo tablet A1, including the proxy (which the Android stock browser does not support).

Just a question - is there a way to disable this aggressive "linking", i.e. making a "tel:" link out of everything which looks like it might be a telephone number, even including IP adresses or similar? I did not find a configuration option yet in opera:config.

wattguadal Tuesday, March 20, 2012 12:45:46 AM

c'est cool

Kate Joanhealthlife Wednesday, March 21, 2012 1:25:57 PM

I just use this version on my htc hero phones,it is wonderful

myregs Thursday, March 22, 2012 8:29:52 PM

still no
- sane scrolling. it's too nervous. constantly drifting right-left.
- no touch dead zones. page start shacking when you trying to press on link. you have to click some 5-7 times to activate link. long pressing on 16x16 icons is a nightmare.
- no proper text reflow. it reflows aside of visible area, so after zoom you have to move to it, instead of in visible area, like in other browsers
- no fast switch between tabs
- no extensions
- no scale. or it doesn't work as it should. it should increase font reflowing page, not just zooming. you also can't scroll into scaled area.

If I click on a link to a Google-Plus profile like
https://plus.google.com/113414497038435493924
it works on the stock Android browser but if I am using Opera Mobile on my tablet then I get a "file not found" error message after being redirected to the mobile site m.google.com.
