By pew. Thursday, May 31, 2012 6:18:44 AM
Opera Mini makes your feature phone smarter! Finally the features that we launched in the Opera Mini Next version back in February are available for real on J2ME (Java phones), BlackBerry and S60.
Opera Mini 7 includes the new Smart Page that will give a quick and easy access to your social networks, favorite sites and other popular content. Stay connected on Facebook and Twitter right in the first screen of Opera Mini.
Alongside the Smart Page you will still find the Speed Dial Screen which is now improved and supports an unlimited number of shortcuts to your favorite sites.
As always, there are many other additions, changes and improvements in this release. You can find slightly more info in the changelogs below.

Lose my rss feeds every single update.
Opera mini next won't open since yesterday.
What's up guys.. 100 updates over last year, not much big improvements, and none of them stable from one update to the next.
I love the browser and log countless hours using it, love the devs. But the update rate and loss of rss every time is a bit crazy in my opinion.
I now have only one working version of opera, no session restore and no rss list...sigh

Thanks.

I made the report bug ID:
SKIRNE-174551 about the issue of RSS Feeds layout:
"I have a big issue with the built in RSS Feed in OM7.0, and never happens
before.
When I check my feeds, Opera load tiles and other graphics surrounding the
feed list and in every feed I open (and shows nothing in this graphics,
just passes from gray área to white), becoming more slow to use, besides
the is't no room for the numbers of unread feeds, only see the title of the
feed.
I open 3 feeds in separate tabs, a newspaper, a tech blog and
crackberry.com RSS, when i open other tab, the firsts tabs erases and shows
"this tab has erased for recover memory, please update".
I go back to OM6.5.2 and still happen (but I stay in OM6 because manage
memory a little bit better), so i realize your servers are sending all that
crap in the feeds (killing the supposedly light of RSS rather a complete
web page) please return to the older view of RSS feed or please fix."
Thanks for your time and your work.

and loading issue when loading 2 tabs and get freeze is actually the tab in the back is fail to load and get the focus to the popup for retry or cancel that disabling shortcuts and navigation pointer but the disabling thing is correctly only when we switch to the tab that fail to load, which at the moment the disabling happen everytime a tab fail to load at any tab we're currently viewing
and also when loading 2 tabs and both are fail to load, if that happen the first tab fail is the one we're currently wiewing then the focus that we use to choose retry or cancel button will be moved to the second tab that fail at the back thus we get the disabling again without ability to choose the button
the focus can be restored if we press menu and back to the tab, but it will be better if opera fix these focusing things

I mean, why you use grey background if you want to cover it all with white object?
it is the thing that led to memory issue
won't it'll be better if u just use the white background?
and now I can't see what rss updated and how much is the new entry, the list is messed up now
I hope opera team can get the things right for operamini 7 in the near future!
d-wa # Sunday, July 8, 2012 4:46:03 AM
its better than operamini 4 that loads it as page
though operamini won't run active jauascript yet, but it's a good move to have alert javascript as it should be
also the popup is not an ads popup that we usually find when clicking some link on a desktop
on a desktop, ads popup designed to load on a new tab while the original tab loads the content we desired
but operamini load the ads popup on the original tab and we ended up on the ads questioning 'how to get to what I want from here?'
if you don't know what I'm talking about, let's try to download a file from ziddu with operamini
please fix this popup issue also, The Opera Mini Team
thank you

When I press down with my finger on a link (to open in new tab) when I press down little harder the center of my press sometime scrolls the page slightly up or down and then the word above or below the link that I pressed is selected or the action menu pops for the item above/bellow.
The problem I think is that when you do a long press in OperaMini the animation (dots going in a circle and link is highlighted) is being displayed for the selected item but when the animation finish the action rechecks where the finger is and see that it looks like its slightly more on the above or bottom item and do the action on that item rather. Very annoying.
The behavior should be to either cancel the animation/click when the finger press move too much and then when it only change slightly (thanks to your finger pressing a little harder) to do the action on the selected link and not to recheck where the press is before action is applied.
Don't think it was like this always or did I just start noticing it?
And hope the developers understand what I'm trying to report

me from heading over to Android, but come on guys, do something about the horrible new feeds layout. Takk!
d-wa # Friday, July 13, 2012 5:14:00 AM
that was fast!
and looks better than ever
no more cutted feed entry name, and grey font color for new feed entry just did it
this is the best
thank you The Opera Mini Team!
hey, but there's one thing missed :
when viewing feeds, what does that long empty space below the 'older item' link used for?
it keeps me scrolling down to the bottom to check that it really empty or something there
d-wa # Friday, July 13, 2012 5:24:58 AM
you could move, edit or delete it
funny, the quote link not working in operamini 7 with mobile version
