Things I haven't told you about.

Let's see, where do I start? Spee came home from China and brought us some very nice gifts. He was still so enthusiastic and told us all very nice things he learned from his tour guide about China. Like, "The Party in China, you have to be invited to join; so it is like being a Free Mason." "Tibet has always been considered a part of China, our tour guide told us all about how the Chinese think. Now I understand why the Chinese were so upset with the Tibet protests." "Mao has some neat sayings, I bought his Book of Sayings." I feel like he has been pro-China brainwashed! Just kidding. The tour and guide and all of China was fantastic and an experience he will never forget.

I have been the adult driver to Amanda's permit-driving. Oh, she gets grouchy when I say something. Me: "Amanda, you can turn right on red when it is clear and there is no sign against it." Panda: "Mom, I am going to turn if it isn't clear? Really, mom." I get nervous sometimes when she drives. She takes her test on Tuesday. I hope to drive about more with her on Monday. Maybe later today, too.

Spelios took his LSAT at Notre Dame. I drove him there so he wouldn't be nervous since he really doesn't drive much. It was about a 2-hour drive. We ate a lite lunch there and then I dropped him off and took a few photos of the campus.

Next I went looking for the Potawatomi Zoo. Found it and went in and took photos. This zoo is small but very nice. The animals all look happy. There was an orange-striped tiger that would go from glass panel to glass panel when little kids were there. The kids would just squeak with happiness. The tiger seemed to enjoy it, too. The white tiger got mad at some little kids one with a mohawk haircut and the other with hair that was a minimohawk. He jumped at the glass at them! He just didn't like those haircuts because he didn't move for anyone else. I rode a little train.

(I have photos that I will post of last year's town celebration, this year's Memorial Day, and the ND and zoo.)

The zoo had a nice butterfly exhibit and interesting animals that I have never seen in other zoos. In the past I have been to the Indianapolis Zoo, Brookfield Zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo, Milwaukee Zoo, and another very small zoo in Chicago called Indian Boundary Zoo.

Karl is all excited about being the head of the Tubas for Band Camp and that he is going to teach the Freshmen Tubas how to march. He wants to practice his tuba last week already!

On Father's Day I cooked Teddy and all of us prime ribs and veggies and rice and pie. Then we watched DVDs of Teddy's choice. It was nice having Amanda there with us because when I took Spee back to WL, I brought Amanda home; so she has been home this week. We went shopping and driving. She is mostly on her computer when home or playing WII with Karl. Karl loves having his sibs home, too.

A dear person died recently. Teddy went to the funeral and wake and service and all. Teddy was quoted in the newspaper about him and gave a speech at the service. How nice of the family to invite him to the family-only event. I didn't go since Karl needed to be driven to umpiring and, anyway, all these people worked closely with Teddy... Teddy got a lot of complements about his speech.

Bless you in heaven, Judge Freeman! May all your relatives find peace.

Get this! This morning, I am asleep and I wake up to someone yelling at my Karl! "Your cat bit me. I am going to sue you. I took photos of the cat coming in and out of your yard. It is your cat!" I wake up saying, "Cat?" I get dressed. Karl says this guy came and yelled at him and this guy had at least two cats in a cage. I told Karl, "Next time, you say you are going to get your mom." So, I call the police to tell them that an adult has accosted my son, yelling at him about a cat he says we own and we have no cat and that this guy has been taking photos of our house and property and who knows what else. So the cops came and talked to Karl and said they were going through the neighborhood looking for him.

What an idiot! He catches cats in a cage and then he puts his hand near them and gets bit. Wouldn't someone know better than to touch an animal they don't know? This is all I need...

I have seen a cat near our house and it always runs away down the block. It is a small one, if it is the one he is talking about; but it isn't ours. It cuts through our yard.

Poor Karl.

Yesterday Karl came home from umpiring all enthused that he had done a good job because the audience of one side was yelling at him and he didn't get mad. Apparentally one team had a phenomenal pitcher Karl was so impressed with; and she pitched the corners of the plate, which equals to an out. This situation made the audience mad because he called the batter out. Karl knows all the rules, he watches very closely where the ball is. He says, "It seems one side always hates the umpires. Everyone hates umpires and lawyers."

My family, umpires and a lawyer and soon-to-be lawyers (Spee and Panda), and Karl wants to be an architect.

I finally got my college transcript. Soon I will go back to school.

The weather is hot, humid and raining on and off today. I have to plant some flowers!

Just got reacquainted with someone over Skype, what a small world.

Take care, readers! Blessings on all of us.

WOW!! You've been very busy!! Sounds like you have a very full and interesting life! The cat incident, I'm sure you could do without, but all the rest must keep you happily busy!!

Eliane a/k/a Elly 23. June 2008, 04:44

I really am not that busy. I chauffeur my hubby and son. I help Amanda learn to drive. Shop for food. Watch TV. Once in a while go to movies. Read books. Listen to music. Surf the net. Write the blog. These past two weeks, I got to go to and fro from WL and got to go to South Bend, so that was unusual.

Miss making stuff. Might start latchhooking again, I used to really like that. I feel like there is an artsy-craftsy person in me waiting to get out more

Now that I am not an adult leader in any youth activities, I have a lot of time; and also now that my children are not playing any sports. Karl doesn't really want me to watch him umping (although I do sneak peeks!)

I do sleep a lot. Am very calm. Have to start exercising since now I am mended.

I just write about stuff when I got stuff to write about. Miss hiking. Oh well, got some home improvement stuff to do now...
