Before the Boston Tea Party, the British had actually lowered tea taxes. Briefly, the RW wasn't fought because of Tea taxes. The Revolutionary War was fought because the States weren't fairly represented in Parliment and were considered second-class citizens of the British Empire.
Union General US Grant owned slaves; Confederate General Robert E. Lee did not. True facts!
Karl Marx worked as a correspondent for the NY Daily Tribune. How about that?
The Constitution of the Confederate States of America banned the slave trade. Fact: The Civil War was fought for socio-economic political reasons. The North did not want the South to secede. Lincoln did a political spin and based the reason of the War on slavery so France (which was going to help the South) could not join because France was against slavery, and a lot of Northerners were against slavery so the call to arms was made.
The US and Canada had a bloodless war called "War of Pork and Beans." Brief explanation: In the winter of 1838-39, the Aroostook or Pork and Beans War, “erupted” between the state of Maine, then part of Massachusetts, and the British territory of New Brunswick, a province of Canada. Only one casualty, no one knows how he died, but he was buried with military honors. Some others died of illness. There were no battles, everybody just sat around and talked about how to solve the border dispute. NO shots were fired ever. Ben Franklin ended the war by drawing up a boundary between Maine and Canada while he was in France. Oh, it is called "Pork and Beans" because that is what the guys from Maine and Massachusetts were eating during this "war".
