Celebrated!
It was my anniversay of birth!
Hubby has been sooooo nice. Sunday, I didn't have to cook; got prepared roasted chicken from Sams' Club (a great bargain and very tastey) with potato salad. Tuesday, we had take-out, too, yummy Hawaiin pizza with those great little dippers. Wednesday, got taken out to dinner. Enjoyed a prime rib with gravy fries and salad. Saturday, I get a cake! All this for my birthday!!!!! My presents were a couple of books and a DS game. One book is Survival, a National Geographic Manual; reading a bit of that, learning a bit more. Will carry it with me when I go hiking. Another book is The Encyclopedia of Symbols. This is a great book with the only fall-back being that not all the symbols are illustrated. Just describing them doesn't do it for me... Still in the process of reading the large encyclopedia. I also have a smaller book about symbols, a "pocket" encyclopedia. Read that whole thingee, it had a very Jung-filled philosophy. Just didn't read about the Tarot cards. Found out my name spelled backwards is a powerful angelic name, though. My collegiates called me, my parents called me, Karl hugged me at every opportunity he had. Such a nice day! I just relaxed all day with my ankle up... It was just a family-thingee...
The weather on my birthday was soooooo pleasant. I didn't get to finish my painting of the outter parts of my back porch because the day before I sprained my ankle finishing up painting of my garage's fascia and one area of my porch. Today it is cooler and thunderstorming. Wonder if I will get to paint again? My mom says she thinks the wonderful Indian Summer weather is over -- but I maintain my optimism. I won't paint without someone being home, though, in case I fall off the ladder! Karl agrees with this; in fact, he told me the same thing. He freaked when I stepped into a hole when finishing up the garage and my ankle went out and I fell. Today I am fine. Just a bit sore here and there.
After such magnificently sunny days, today was such a stark contrast.
Oh! I "weaved" a covering for my alley fence! It is made out of plastic. I also put it over the white sunblock fencing which is weaved into my steel fence, too=double protection!!!! Now I have a mostly orange six-foot fence.(A couple of bats roosted there this morning -- they left when the rain came). It works, and since I got the material when somebody pranked Karl and enveloped our entire van in orange, the best part is it is free! Those nosy people who drive in the alley and look into my yard can't see much now! Hopefully it deters that weird guy and his camera who is trying to catch who is the owner of the cat that cuts through my yard (NOT ME!!!). I feel much safer. Wish he would find somebody else to take photos and films of -- he is such a jerk!!!!!!
I voted for Obama and now he is President. In fact, all my family did. Obama looks so happy in his photos. Hopefully he will remain radiant throughout his entire term. Best of luck Mr. President-Elect!!!
The new DS game is a variation of the popular 1980's game, "Frogger". I love it. My frog keeps getting killed, though -- really, my skills have to improve.
Well, I guess I am showing my age a bit from the above comment. Guess my age? 51 years. Happily I have made it to this venerableness -- hey, past 50 isn't one venerable? Yes, that is my story and I am going to stick to it.
Blessings to you, my readers and friends and ifriends!!!!
