Appearing suddenly near
my ghostly friend arrives here

sending out beautiful vibes everywhere
such a loving reuniting celebration
bringing me to the realization

momable 4. December 2008, 21:14

Loku, is it Brit, British, or Englishman?

momable 4. December 2008, 21:18

I am a Hoosier. (Although, my collegiates say I must say, "I am from the State of Indiana since the Indiana University's athletic teams are called Hoosiers.)

I am a Boilermaker. (By default of having two children at Purdue University West Lafayette.)

I am an American. (I don't know why it isn't United Statesian. I guess because the full title of my country is The Republic of the United States of America.)

Ain't it something that the founding fathers didn't trust the common people to make this country the Democracy of the United States of America!!!!

I am an Earthling.

Dacotah 4. December 2008, 21:22

Don't think we are called that Elly.

ok... here it is .....

re I am an American. (I don't know why it isn't United Statesian. I guess because the full title of my country is The Republic of the United States of America.)

I am a man who thinks that tea
changed the way that you now see.

If my brit ancestors had overthrown
old "German-George" before that tax

you might still be one of us
and greeting me as "fellow-brit"

slapping my back and saying "S***,
our empire's union's doing fine"

Let's just shake hands and call
us all, britamerican sister & brother.

I-blame-it-all-on-German-George,
not the guys at Boston harbor.

:D  jesting

momable 4. December 2008, 22:24

lokutus_prime 5. December 2008, 10:50

Elly, re "Loku, is it Brit, British, or Englishman? "

I am british because I was born on the island of britain. I was born in the country of Scotland... and so I guess I am a scots-born Englishman
I am an Englishman because I was raised in the country of England and I think of my self in that identity

...but above all these things I am part of Humanity and you and I and everyone else are brothers and sisters

Loku

momable 11. December 2008, 06:20

Humanity

Yes, Loku. Now I am thinking about humanity.

lokutus_prime 12. December 2008, 20:19

O Ship of State

Thou, too, sail on, O Ship of State!
Sail on, O Union, strong and great!
Humanity with all its fears,
With all the hopes of future years,
Is hanging breathless on thy fate!
We know what Master laid thy keel,
What Workmen wrought thy ribs of steel,
Who made each mast, and sail, and rope,
What anvils rang, what hammers beat,
In what a forge and what a heat
Were shaped the anchors of thy hope!
Fear not each sudden sound and shock,
'Tis of the wave and not the rock;
'Tis but the flapping of the sail,
And not a rent made by the gale!
In spite of rock and tempest's roar,
In spite of false lights on the shore,
Sail on, nor fear to breast the sea!
Our hearts, our hopes, are all with thee.
Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers, our tears,
Our faith triumphant o'er our fears,
Are all with thee, -are all with thee!

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
