It's Me It's Me, A Blogwright

A potpourri of ME

Hello

, , , ,

Still alive!

Hya, All! Haven't written here for a bit. For some reason, the computers were working r e a l l y
s l o w. Today, it is back to zippy. Yippee!

As some of you might remember, I got a Kindle bookreader for Christmas. It is a Kindle 1. I LOVE IT! It is so easy to read and I have quite a category of books on it. It weighs less than the majority of books I have. I bought a few books for it and have been having a great time looking through all the free selections. (My hubby is very happy about that! He says, "I was afraid to buy you this thing in case you would get excited and start buying so many books and ruin our budget.") Usually I delete a book once I have read it; but some people keep everything they read on little memory cards. I figure, if I ever want to read a book over, then I can go to the free sites and download it again and for the ones I buy through the Kindle Store on Amazon, they keep the books there so the record is never deleted and I can download it from there whenever.

So, I have been reading while the computer was acting up by dragging.

Yesterday, I was in the doctor's office all day. I have a strange pain that just kept growing in size and strength. Still have to take more tests. Am now on antibiotics. CAT scans really got me aggravated. The report said that my ovaries needed looking into -- and I have no ovaries!!!!! Then the doctor says, "Well, that is what the report says. Perhaps they see scar tissue." So now I have to have an Ultrasound. Then, I can't remember if my appendix was ever taken out. The CAT scan didn't show one, but the doctor said that sometimes the CAT scans don't. Now I have to go to the hospital and get a copy of an old operative report to find out definitely what they took out! (After that operation, long ago, the doctor told me stuff -- but I was so drugged up then, I can't remember what she said. She never told my husband anything, apparently!) The doctor was all set to take out my appendix until the Ultrasound didn't show one! He wanted to operate on me that night!!!!!

Yesterday they took my blood, urine. Put iodine and Barium in me. Getting poked is no fun!!!!! I was there from 8:00 a.m. until 3 something p.m. Fortunately, I had my Kindle to read.

Such bad timing! Teddy and I were going to go down to WL to see Spee in concert!!!! Amanda was waiting for us today -- Spee didn't tell her that we weren't going. Amanda says that oftentimes Spelios won't tell her things because he doesn't want her to worry.

Supposed to go to a fundraising pancake breakfast. Think I will opt out. Teddy and Karl can go. Karl loves these things because they are all-you-can-eat and so he does, indeed, proceed to eat and eat. He is so cute and as with the rest of my family, loves to go out and eat.

Thank you, my friends, for expressing concern for me!

Have been thinking about how some people keep everything they read on little memory cards and carry around a little holder for them or have a holder for them in their Kindle holder. I am awaiting a memory card. I have a little bit of background music on it I want to transfer to the memory card since it takes up so much room. Did I tell you that Kindle 1 is actually a Linux computer. So super cool. It looks like a tiny pad computer with a keyboard. Now they just came out this month with a Kindle 2. It doesn't have a replaceable-by-me battery or a memory card slot. Apparently it didn't come with a holder, either. Kindle 2 is supposed to be thinner and it has more greyscale and internal memory.

I really like my holder that came in the box with Kindle 1. After I found out that the corners should be 90 degrees and I should make sure that it clicks into the plastic thingee in the back, my Kindle 1 is holding in its case really well. Thinking of buying a holder that has zippers for when I take it outdoors so Kindle will be more protected because of so much snow and rain we are having. So, shopping trip to Office Max! They have journal holders that are supposed to work fantastically, and I can put Velcro in it for more sturdiness. I have a cool bag that Sugar sent me last year that I think will holder my Kindle in it's holder, too -- am going to check it out. More protection in my purse is a definite plus.

Later!

Thanks, Carol, Adele, and Lois. Am on meds and feeling better -- still have to attempt to discover what it is that is causing my discomfort.

Take care!

Elly! Welcome back to Opera.

I know what you mean about KINDLE. Addicting.

Hya, Carol, Loku, and Kay.

I just don't feel up to blogging at all yet. My head seems to not like the shiney computer screen and the pain makes it uncomfortable to sit here, really. Am getting better, though, despite all that.

I will have a lot to catch up to when I am 100%, so soon I will visit all of your blogs!

Take care, all of you

Yes, Kaye, I love the Kindle. It is so easy to read with and light to hold. Just got a memory card for it.

So, you have one, too?
