The one year that none of my children go out trick-or-treating and the weather is beautiful. In the past they have gone out in sleet, snow, sleet and rain, rain, cold, snow and sleet, rain and hail!!!!!
I blackmailed them to go out only a little by buying each of them a huge bag of a candy treat.
Well, in honor of Halloween, the following is a little story!
An atheist was walking through the woods.
"What majestic trees"!
"What powerful rivers"!
"What beautiful animals"!
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes
behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards
him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw
that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped &
fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear
was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his
right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"
Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny
my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit
creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this
predicament? Am I to count you as a believer"?
The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me
to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could
make the BEAR a Christian"?
"Very Well," said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped
his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:
"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through
Christ our Lord, Amen."

Halloween is neat, it is fun seeing all the children and some adults with them in costume! I like passing out candy now that I am not taking my children out any more.
A lot of houses really decorate their lawns excellently. I sit on my porch in a long black Aussie Drover's coat, black gloves, a black hat, black pants, have the candy bowl near me. I sit really still so I appear to be a stuffed manikin; and when older kids come, I wait until an appropriate moment to say, "Booo!" Do they jump!!! The little ones see me and I shine my flashlight on the bowl of candy and say, "Come on, I'll give you some! What do you say?" Then they say, "Trick or treat!" Sometimes I will goof with them and say, "How about a trick?" But I still give them candy.
I have almost been kidnapped one Halloween by a bunch of teenagers who jumped out of their car, thinking I was a stuffed person! They jammed on the brakes, ran out of their car. Oh, did they get a scare! I said, "Boo!" Then one of them said, "Damn it!" Some of them laughed. Some of them sulked back to their car because they didn't get to make off with a scarecrow (me).

Bozo The Clown Sightings!!
Here in the States, mostly everyone grew up watching Bozo on TV. It is/was rumored that Bozo died in 1979, as that is when his show stopped!
Now there are ghostly Bozo sightings and stories circulating about!! Here are a few spots where Bozo's spectre (Or, is it he) has been spotted:

Keep a lookout for Bozo!!! Some people claim Bozo has suffered a psychotic episode as a result of children yelling and screaming when they see him!! So, is he a Good Bozo or Bad Bozo???
I, for one, will not stick around to find out!!!!!
