It's Me It's Me, A Blogwright

I just read this poem -- it is enchanting and dreamlike, despite it's theme being that mankind is going into extinction or slowly destroying itself -- or in the poem, already gone. For an indepth analysis, see Wiki. Sara won the first Nobel Prize for Poetry, being a woman at that!!!

Ray Bradbury used this poem to write a short story of the same title. I am going to reread that next. This story is one of the best-known and many said is the best-known fable in scifi. You can read it at Wiki.

"There Will Come Soft Rains"

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pool singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

I like chewing Big Red
it is a cinnamon gum
this happiness makes me hum
making too much noise for my Ted.

Ted is my hubby
he is mostly sweet
he makes me complete
we are happy and chubby,

Here I am chewing away
typing on my compy
now the poem is almost fini
my breath smells like a bouquet.

Now I think of a song
Cinnamon,let me in
and chewing gum is not a sin
a tastey snack cannot be wrong

A earworm now is in my head
cinnamon spinning musical notes
helping sow my wild oats
dancing and prancing on my bed.

What a strange sight to see
a happily dancing Elly
with my talented jelly-belly
I'll make you laugh, I guarantee!

Filibuster - a poem by Eliane

Methinks and methought
so my elocution ought
to be able to filibuster
with all the veracity I can muster
about various public factotums
supported by many fine datums
enough to last a whole day
while my oponents pray
that my lips will fall off
so I would finally stop
my voice and my gestures
while faces show colors
checking their watches
sitting on sore haunches
until my side wins the debate
so that is one for the Hoosier State!
