Poem, momable, Elly, Eliane

To many a deeper dream
to many a scheme
many are asleep to wonders
many go about as flounderers
adrift in their minds' seas
ignorant of realities.

fear, understand, Marie Curie, Woman Quote
...
"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)

Eliane says: Some quotes are timeless!
Doesn't it seem that certain messages are always repeated in different words all throughout time?

About Madame Curie
Marie Sklodowska-Curie was a scientist who worked in Paris, France. She died from radiation poisoning as she is credited with being the discoveror of radiation, along with her husband. She, her husband, and her daughter are all Nobel Prize Laureates. She was the first person to win or share TWO Nobel Prizes.
"In an unusual decision, Skłodowska-Curie intentionally refrained from patenting the radium-isolation process so that the scientific community could do research unhindered." Marie was a true scientist who wanted all scientist to benefit from her work so more discoveries could be made to benefit the world. She could have made a lot of money! When World War I came about, she and her husband donated their gold medal Nobel Prizes to help fund the French war effort. She also made the radon x-ray tubes to power the "Little Curies" which were portable units carried on the battlefields to x-ray hurt soldiers. Madame Curie was a very hard-working scientist and also a college Professor! She toured the United States twice to raise money for her work and to establish universities.
"As one of the most famous female scientists to date, Marie Curie has been an icon in the scientific world and has inspired many tributes and recognitions. In 1995, she was the first and only woman laid to rest under the famous dome of the Panthéon, in Paris, on her own merits, alongside her husband. The curie (symbol Ci), a unit of radioactivity, is named in their honor, as is the element with atomic number 96 - curium."
The quotes are from a Wikipedia article.

living with half-truths, birthday, Karl, Parent Connect
...
Karl! Straight As or A+s in all of his classes except one, and his grades brought way down because of lack of homework completion. Some teachers give homework to him every single night! I ask him every day afterschool, the evening, when he goes to bed, when he wakes up in the morning, before he departs for school about completing his homework, is it done, does he have it packed, is it with him, does he remember who to give it to, is it, in itself all done, does he want me to look it over, can I check his spelling. I check a thing called Parent Connect, can't make heads of tails of it. It lists homework, yes, but no due dates, no notice of when it was assigned. GRRRRRRRRRR! At least one teacher has a website that is current and shows what is what.
Yesterday was my birthday. My parents and sibs threw me a party! How nice!!!!! So, it was them, and Chris brought her hubbie, Tom. Karl and my hubbie were there. It was really nice being just with them with no other spouses or kids. It was cozy and weird being just us. They had a nice bunch of food and a creme brulle cheesecake! My brother, Karl, had so many funny stories about what happens in the building where he works and his crazy, funny, neighbor. I received some neat birthday cards and gifts.
Oh, and my sister, NOW she tells me that both her son and daughter had the same homework problem that Karl has. (Oh, confused? See, my dad, brother, and son are all named Karl. Am now talking about my 15-year-old student.) When her daughter, Rachel, was growing up, however, it was all, "Rachel is so smart. Straight A's. Such a marvelous student." I found out about her problem with Mikey because one day I was over there and she complaining about it to him and told me, too. See what I have to live through????? Seems that now people just live tellng half-truths, even to relatives! Outright bragging, too-- well, I already got into that, so I won't go into it again; but how can they brag when they are lying about what they are bragging about????

daydreaming, love rules life, daydream, life rules love
...
Life. Rules. Love. So many times it seems these three most important attributes conflict. Does fantasy really sometime bring disaster by somehow becoming a reality so should we not fantasize?
Dreaming about something does make it easier to do that something in reality.
Reading Hitesha's blog about her amorous friend got me thinking the above mentioned thoughts.
When we sleep, I truly believe that those dreams are sometimes escape valves for pressures of the day and sometimes are working out solutions to things we question about.
Daydreaming, I believe, is something else altogether! Daydreaming helps us by giving perspective, preparing us for action because we have done the same thing in daydreams that now is happening in reality. Daydreaming can solve problems. Daydreaming can relax or excite. Daydreaming can make you happy or sad. Daydreaming can be a gauge; for example: I daydream concerning an event, and in that daydream I react in such a way. Event occurs in real life, no hesitation, I know what I am going to do!
See?
Many times it is true that life rules love; conversely, love can rule life.
