"hoi" and "ei" is what ppl in malaysia (and possibly other asian countries) calls another person rudely.

if they know each other then, it can be like "bitch" in a nice way as in addressing ppl.

seriously, they have no meaning. just real rude way of addressing a person in malaysia.

(sort of like "hey", actually)

say "hey" rudely and loudly, u are considered rude, say "hey" nicely and gently, u are considered acceptable...

Here we say, "Hey" instead of hello or hya or nice to meet you or nice to see you again!

As a matter of fact, if someone does something rude, you can say a loud "hey" as if saying, "What are you doing!"

Hey is also used, to bring attention to a wrong deed, like is your brother took your hat, "Hey, that is my hat!"; or to a cool thing, "Hey, that is cool!"

I can't think of any other hey uses...

Oh, yes, dudes in California can say, hey with a whole bunch of different inflections to make it mean totally different things -- they do that with a lot of words, actually...

basically, "hey" has the same usage here in my country. me think "hey" is pretty international, actually...

"hoi" and "ei" are just localized terms for "hey"...
