"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth... Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable." -- Kahlil Gibran

Oh! the days...

, , ,

“Time always seems long to the child who is waiting - for Christmas, for next summer, for becoming a grownup: long also when he surrenders his whole soul to each moment of a happy day”

~Dag Hammarskjold

My stepson has left for home (Alabama) :frown:. Our days have slowed for a while and we spend the majority of our time building sand castles and counting stars at night. My little one starts Kindergarten in the fall and I am endeavoring to savor the sweetness of life. Her entry into school marks an end to an idyll and I am fighting off melancholy.

After little J left I repainted L's room and it is now fresh and sweet. I've acquired a lovely antique desk/vanity for her room that I think she will love for (I hope) forever. I am looking at the mural I painted for her when she was just a baby and am wondering how much longer before she tells me it's too childish. Why must they grow up?

On a happier note we'll be off early tomorrow morning to stand in a very long line to ride the Nemo Subamrine attraction at Disney and then we'll canoeing and pirating (sp?) the rest of the day. Happy midsummer to all!

Hi! The otehr side of the coin:

Your kids cant wait till its holidays again and you guys reunite!

When your daughter has grown up and she looks at the mural once more, she is no longer going to find it childish, but will finally understand the love it holds...

Oh how we wish we could stand still and urge time to do so, so that we stay suspended in the moments we love the most! But it is the future whic is always so tempting because it holds the promise of more!

Have fun!
