"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth... Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable." -- Kahlil Gibran

Solitude

"...solitude is such a potential thing. We hear voices in solitude,
we never hear in the hurry and turmoil of life; we receive counsels
and comforts, we get under no other condition... "
Amelia Barr

The best prayers come from a place of solitude where one can better
connect to their source. Often we spend our time immersed in outside
activities, the affairs of others, and noisy distractions. True wisdom
reveals itself to those who take a few moments each day to sit in
quiet reflection away from the hustle and bustle of busy thoughts and
activities.

When we allow ourselves those silent solitary moments we are able to
relax and connect fully with Spirit. In this calm, we are better able
to seek the answers that are otherwise elusive in the outer world.
People often equate alone with loneliness. The truth is as much as we
need each other, we also need time alone, where we can connect with
our soul. Time well spent alone is therapeutic and necessary and
allows us to find a sense of completion that outside sources can't
fulfill. When we begin to flourish in this new sense of wholeness, we
are better able to extend ourselves to others.

Yes, solitude is vital. Just as silence is.

Being alone and keeping my mouth shut for a while helps me to reveal inner - and outer - potentials which would otherwise be unnoticed.

Good entry!

Yep. When I get crazed, I grab my gear, hop in the car, and go camping.
Being alone in the woods is like chillin' with God.

Totally can relate to that...
