First of all I am not an expert on Linux or Ubuntu but I the following method is based on my searches on the topic using Google.
When you installed Joli OS the installed package will include only Chromium web browser. If you want to install Firefox browser the following method may be used. (I am using Joli OS 1.2).
Press Alt-F1 to call the terminal command window
Type the following command “sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.list” and press Enter
You may need to enter the admin password (the password you used when log in to Joli OS)
This will invoke the editor and open the file ubuntu.list for editing.
Insert the following two lines into the file.
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/mozillateam/firefox-stable/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/mozillateam/firefox-stable/ubuntu lucid main
Save and close the editor.
Go to Joli OS desktop and look for Local Apps folder.
Look for Local Apps > More Apps and click. This will invoke the File Browser.
Look for “Synaptic Package Manager” icon. If there are two icons with the same title try to click them.
The correct one is the one which you need to enter the admin password.
On the left pane of the application look for “Origin” button and click.
Look for something like mozillateam-firefox-stable.
On the right pane look for firefox package and select the one which you want to install (the latest version).
Right click on the selected item and choose “Mark for installation”.
Click the “Apply” button on the menu to install the package.
Follow the Firefox’s instructions during installation.
In Joli OS desktop in the Local Apps folder, click Add a Local App (it’s on the top right of the window)
Choose Firefox Web Browser from the list and click Add.
Now you will have Firefox Web Browser shortcut (icon) in the Local Apps folder.
You can choose to call the program by click the short cut or you can press ALT-F1 for command window and type firefox and enter also.
