Snap Links 1.9

,

This update add the option to open the links as private tabs and separate the Stack option into Stack (Collapsed) and Stack (Expanded)

The pop-up menu also incorporates those changes

And the list of links pop-up are now individually clickable

Snap Links 1.8

, , , ...

The final version of Snap Links 1.8 has everything from the beta except the copying to the clipboard part as Opera 12 doesn't have support for that API... for now.
As sunlab suggested I added the option to have a delay while opening links because some sites have problems with multiple request at the same time, the delay is 0 by default.

With the amount of possibilities available to open the links (and more to come like opening the links as private tabs, copy them to the clipboard) plus other options do you think an optional toolbar button displaying a popup for quick access to them is a good idea or a terrible one, making this extension too bloated?
I guess using the Ctrl/Alt key shortcut to open the links in a stack and other key to copy them in the clipboard will be enough for most people but I can be wrong so please post a comment or send me an e-mail with your opinion.

This would be a rough example of the popup:

Snap Links 1.8 beta: Stacks and more

Hi! The Opera 12 beta includes some nice stuff like the updated Windows & Tabs extension API, that means I can finally implement one of the most requested features into Snap Links:

With Background and Foreground you can also create a stack by holding the Ctrl or Alt key (having Alt as the activation key will make Ctrl the staking key and vice versa)

With the increasing number of options I also added a popup which let you choose how what to do with the selected links:

Why the clipboard button is disabled you ask? From the Web specifications support in Opera Presto 2.10 page it looks like the engine will support the Clipboard API needed to copy the links but still isn't implemented, although it might happen very soon smile

Sadly the Opera bugs DSK-327967 (Closing tabs opened in the background will activate the last active tab even if you have selected "Activate the next tab") and DSK-333113 (Tabs doesn't keep the zoom level) aren't fixed sad

This extension doesn't work with Opera 11.6x so you can only test it with Opera 12.

Snap Links 1.6

,

Small update this time.

Changelog:

-Added "Select all links" option
-Can choose between the Alt or Ctrl key to activate the extension
-New color picker

Thanks to Daniel Bengtsson for the useful HTML5 color picker link and nixdagibts for suggesting the "Always select all links" option.

Snap Links 1.5

Finally implemented the preferences page, now you have the "use a key to activate" option and the possibility to change the appearance of the selection rectangle and links.
Sadly with the current extension API I can't do nothing really interesting (opening the selected tabs in a stack comes in mind) and there is this really annoying Opera bug (DSK-327967) that doesn't follow "Activate the next tab" when closing tabs created in the background.
So don't expect a new version with useful stuff unless there is an update in the API.

Snap Links extension

Since the release of Opera 10.5 the Snap Links UserJS didn't work anymore because of a javascript bug which still is unpatched. Its a shame because I use it a lot and made me skip the entire 10.5/10.6 versions as my primary browser (still using 10.10)
So I was very interested when the Opera 11 alpha included support for extensions, after some reading the first thing to do was porting the userjs to an extension.
The port works fine so I guess in the future I will be using Opera 11 as my primary browser bigsmile , it's available in the extensions gallery.

You can find the original UserJS made by Ayush in the Opera UserJS forum

In the next version I will add more functionality (activation with a key press, etc.) and style customizations.
