OPERA WISHLIST
--------------
#1: Being able to turn off CPU usage of all tabs except the current one. This will solve the problem that some webpages uses 100% CPU (or 25% on quadcores - but still, Opera doesn't respond on such a machine, when the issue appears). Since I use Opera 5, I regularly encounter a 100% CPU usage problem with Opera. So, since I have little hope that issue will ever be resolved, I'm now throwing my darts on this wish.
Solve: well, ofcourse it will not be a real solution; it's more like preventing the sympton that, when using many tabs, the browser regularly ceases to respond. And it would make it easier to discover which webpage gives toubles.
Follow up: Since some months now, I've not encountered the CPU-problem anymore. It seems Opera has made a fix somewhere.
#2: An option in the GUI to edit all the rightclick menu's.
#3: An option which W-O-R-K-S to export ALL things which have been changed/modified by the user, including all manually edited INI-settings (especially standard_menu.ini), etc. etc.
#4: I use the Windows Native skin. Using that, there's not enough contrast between the active tab and the others. It's hard to make out which tab is the active one. So, the wish is to give the active tab another color or use better contrast (when using the Windows Native skin - if that's possible) or have another good solution to see instantly which tab is the active one.
Follow up: Unfortunately, Opera still hasn't fixed this issue. I've edited standard_skin.zip now, to add a black line to the active tab. But any manually edits like these go away after each reïnstall or update.
#5: An option which OVERWRITES the cache and all other history (including cookies) when shutting down Opera (or when selecting the option in question while Opera is still active). The user should be able to set how often such privacy data should be overwritten (with random data).
#6: Parental options. Although other browsers on the system (like iexplore.exe) then also most use parental options, it's still a wish to have it in Opera too.
#7: This would be a large size project, but it would be fantastic: Opera would keep internet blacklists on a set of proxy servers worldwide. Schools then can use the Opera proxy for its students so that the kids won't see nudity etc. In Opera itself, the proxy setting will be behind a password. Maybe it could be a non-free service, but in the beginning (let's say first year or so) I think it would be best if its free.
#8: Add some built-in links to simple online multiplayer multiplatform games. The opponents are other (random) Opera users.
