The purposes of the Masters Swimming Manitoba are:
to promote fun, fitness, health, fellowship and participation among adult swimmers to give guidance and leadership in the direction, development and execution of programs for non-competitive and competitive adult swimmers in Manitoba to encourage the development and use of facilities for swimming, in general, and for masters swimming, in particular.
Come out to a practice and join the fun. Just show up on deck ready to swim and talk to the coach at any club.
It is a successful blend of recreational and fitness swimming for adults. Masters swimming is based on regular training sessions using training techniques similar to those used in swim programs all over the world, including flexibility, strength, and aerobic conditioning.
Who can join?
Anyone who has basic swimming ability and can comfortably swim 75 meters. Those with a known medical condition and/or who are 45 years of age or older should check with their physician before enrolling. Masters swimming is open to any swimmer 18 years and older. No previous competitive background is necessary and you do not have to compete as a Masters swimmer. The most important prerequisite for becoming involved with our program is the desire to learn in a fun and stimulating environment.
