Essentially the Only One

but back at work.

Sigh!

Still, everyone was very pleased to see me back & that was very comforting. Seems hard to believe that just a few days ago I was on a different continent with a six hour timezone shift, but such is nature of travel and time. Already I feel my St. Louis mental picture reforming and my British one fading. Just as well really.

All photos of Loch Leven in the Western Highlands, Scotland.

Put it on your travel itinerary, Isabel - it's one of the world's most beautiful countries.

(You've reminded me that I have a Facebook thingy of yours to do!)

What tremendous photos you've brought back, in this and so many other recent posts!

Thanks for sharing!

Richard 12. August 2008, 00:54

Glad you like them, L2D! My pleasure is in sharing them.

I remember you speaking on this topic before. Last year?

I have no idea really what it's like to have moved permanently from one continent to another, but I do understand why it makes a deep impact to make that transition once again - forth and back.

Like having two identities, or two sides to the identity?

Richard 12. August 2008, 16:21

More like two sides to one identity, yes - it does make quite an impact every time I switch back and forth. Different aspects of my life come to the front, and I adjust to them.

Great landscapes Richard!

Richard 14. August 2008, 23:32

Thanks, Words - I really wish I was still there looking at them. A photograph is an imperfect recollection.

Indeed, the reality is always better. I think that's partly why I often go back and take the same photos day after day. Pictures are nice, but the moment is supreme.

Exactly right!
