My wife, my sister and my brother-in-law being kept at a respectful distance by a small group of sheep. Devon coast, England, summer 2008.

And here's the music that was going through my head at the time...

Sheep demand respect.

Wow. That piece of music is not something for radio, is it?

musickna 12. September 2008, 02:28

 I think not. It's from the soundtrack of a wonderful Peter Greenaway film called "The Draughtsman's Contract" & I've always liked it.

I've never seen it, but I'll have to look it up.

It's quite a strange film, but unforgettable once seen. I think you'd enjoy it - on some level at least!

Hahah. That's a peculiar endorsement.

It's a very peculiar film. Never seen anything else quite like it.

Homer: Doh! Now I have to find it and watch it.

The song didn't seem to be feeding through right now.

Anyway, that movie is, as you say, very peculiar. To say the least. I saw it back in the 80s, and somebody afterward asked me how I had liked it. I told them "I feel like the brain cells in my brain have been rearranged." And I didn't mean it in a good way. As for the ending, it mystified me.

I've always wanted to see his Gothic about Bryon and Shelley and the group. But it's not exactly common fare even on cable. If I were serious about seeing it I would have to buy it I guess.

Speaking of very strange movies, did you ever see one called Liquid Sky ??? Whoa! I liked that one, though, even though it was bizarre as [bleep!].

No, never did, Ed, but I heard about it. I might enjoy it! Song seems OK right now. It's pretty quiet, probably want to boost your volume. I know what you mean about rearranging brain cells, although my change was in a good way. Different brains, I guess. :D
