I raise my hand and glint my eye
in the jubilation of my cry!
O thou who listened to my tale,
saw me trembling, fearful frail
as ghastly memory held me tight,
know now I am escaped the night!

I give thee thanks. Thou art he
whose listening has set me free,
- unless fate shows a perfidy!
I will not dwell on that, 'tis time
to move toward Verse 139.

Richard - You are, as ever, a gracious, gentle, patien and kind host, generous in your response. I thank you most gratefully This Rime has been the most tremendously technical and moving and wondrous poetry challenge I have ever met.
I am glad I have faced it and made more than a fist of it.
Soon I shall revert back to Verse Three, for it awaits my Parody unto Verse 79, to complete this mammoth task in its entirety.

Whatever else I have written in my four years blog and however else I am considered, for I will pass into relative obscurity eventually, in the long run I hope my Parody will be remembered. A good friend recently opined that he and I were similar because, he said, we both sought adulation. I have not yet had time to correct him in reply because it is recognition that I seek and this is not the same. The former might be regarded as a self-centered ambition, the latter would be regarded as wanting to be read for the value of one's writing. I aspire to the latter - always.

Loku, I don't know how you keep up with this. It is difficult for me just to keep up with the daily comments and blogs I've subscribed to.
