Essentially the Only One

by Richard

Verse 15

, , ,

And down the river's dim expanse
Like some bold seer in a trance,
Seeing all his own mischance --
With a glassy countenance
Did she look to Camelot.
And at the closing of the day
She loosed the chain, and down she lay;
The broad stream bore her far away,
The Lady of Shalott.

J. W. Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott is one of my favorites. The painting is wonderful. I love the Pre-Raphaelite painters....all of them, actually. Very romantic genre.

Isn't she beautiful, Lea? One of my favorite paintings - I used to spend hours in the Tate Gallery when I lived in London gazing at her. Yes, I'm also very fond of the Pre-Raphaelite school, PainterWoman. :smile:
