Never saw any land looking like this in Illinois. I was on a truck run with a couple friends and we came back home through Illinois, Ark, Tex. All the scenery I saw was flat farmland with nothing but crops as far as I could see.

Peaceful indeed. A lot of Illinois is flat, but that's not true of parts of southern Illinois and this area, Calhoun County, that lies between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers where they are only a few miles apart.

I love it. Not only is it largely unspoiled and a wonderful wildlife area, but also it's criss-crossed with tiny winding lanes that are very similar to those found in England.
