A drive through the American Bottom floodplain this afternoon.

This is a view of the Mississippi River bluff from below.

A steep walk up Salt Lick Trail led me to this overlook of the plain. Such beautiful brown fields.

The setting sun magnified the autumnal red and gold.

Another magical day.

Those are beautiful Richard. Our trees here in East Texas have barely started turning. Some years, we have gorgeous fall colors, other years, kind of blah, depends on how much cold we get and how soon. Cold gets farther and farther away from Texas ever year seems like. Truthfully, that is OK with me. Don't like cold/

I don't mind the cold as much as the heat, but I like both in more or less equal proportion. That's something we do get here in St. Louis, although, as you point out Linda, there is a shift away from winter here too.

Snow already, Elias? I hope you're enjoying it.

Yes, snow! And seems like it will again snow this evening - according to forecasts. I like cold weather
