There are high levels of unemployment in Kenya especially among the youths. Suprisingly most of these youths are educated to university or college level thus they're professionals in their respective careers.
Economic growth in Kenya has been very slow and focused on different areas but not the employment sector especially the industries. Looking at the current trend you'll see that employers have been laying down more employees than they do employ for the past ten or so years. This situation is as a result of high operation costs from rising fuel prices, government taxes, corruption and development in technology.
Due to the above factors these new graduates and laid down employees find themselves in a tight situation as life has to continue no matter what. By using their knowledge and skills they start their own income generating activities which are mainly determined by the capital available and the regional demands or trends.
