OS decisions and testing

I have to say that the most disappointed I was with new Ubuntu. OS installation went ok, although it took ages and I was quiet disappointed since the beginning. Compared to Vista which installation took me 30 min + 30 min setting up and providing my laptop in everything that's needed, the Ubuntu took about 1h for the installation only, not to mention the updates which lasted for 8 hrs until I forcefully shut my pc down and un-installed the damn thing. As of now I've tried to install Ubuntu three times and all of them were failures. I got it to work once, but the OS kept freezing on me and was way too slow.
In the end I think I'd be hundreds times better into upgrading to Windows 7, which I have to say not only look appealing, but has some new cool features which I want to check out, not to mention there is a lot of bug fixes since Vista.
Overall in my eyes no other OS could be even compared to Windows, no matter how many times I try other OSs nothing else just works for me.
