20 years since World Wide Web was proposed

,

What is really the “birthday” of the World Wide Web? That is difficult to tell, is it when the idea about it was first thought? When the first servers and clients were written? When the second server was up and running (so that it was really a web)? I don’t know, but apparently what is a fact is that it is twenty years since the first proposal for the World Wide Web was written by Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

The Opera browser turns 15 years this year. Although Opera Software wasn’t founded until 1995, development of “Multitorg Opera” started within Telenor already in 1994. I wonder if they have some kind of interesting celebrations planned for this year?
