A Day in Japanese Class

, , , ...

Thought I'd give you a slight look into what I do in class...

First, I walked to school and saw a 3 wheeled motorcycle, which has nothing to do with class, but thought I'd post it anyway...

At class, first thing is first: take the daily test/quiz which everyone just crammed for by getting to the room 30 minutes before class started. Here's a little glimpse through the eyes of a genius.

After that, there is a speech given by the champion(s) of the previous day's test. This time, from China, was the lovely O, from Korea, the deep thinker, Yunhei, and from our very own U S of A, the most badass, mean muggin' Peter. Tim was just the MC, he's not smart enough to be the champion.

After much debate and consideration, I have come to a conclusion that seemed so extremely simple once it hit me. I felt like such an idiot for overlooking it and think you will feel the same after an explanation is given. Even though it was a three way tie for the win, in my opinion there is no question who the winner was. Peter Cummings. Not because he's American, not because he's the smartest, and not even because his favorite books are the Sword of Truth and the Dark Elf series. No, not because of that. Upon viewing the picture again, I believe you will agree with my decision to authoritatively give Peter the win. Take a look.

Enough said. Next topic.

Actually, there is no next topic. Fish made a dumbfounded face as the teacher said, "volitional form," Tim took a picture of his eye, and Onitsuka had a fat lip and decided to make this face (check out the blog of Beast Man Yuki HERE).

Testing Out Opera

, , , ...

So currently, I've got another month before I actually arrive in Tokyo. I just wanted to test out opera's waters before I dove in and decided to use it as my primary blog for this trip. My friend swears by opera and he's pretty tech savvy so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm thinking about making this blog not only about my adventures, but maybe also a sort of guide for anyone else coming to Japan, or Waseda. I know I've got my share of questions about the journey I'm about to go on, and I searched and searched google, only to find answers to a small percentage of them! Hopefully with my experiences, I can help better prepare others in areas that I found difficult to find any information on the web about! As my language skills progress, I'm also going to try and write my blog in both English as well as Japanese, for fun, and for all my current and future Japanese friends! I look forward to an awesome year blogging about my trip and I hope a few of you follow me through this blog!
