We had wine and dinner at Morrell Wine Bar after a Broadway play this past Saturday. I was impressed with the wines by the glass. Most are $10 to $15 and the selection is quite pleasing. The wines for purchase as a bottle are mostly pretty expensive and I wondered why so many were in the $200 price range. We don't need that. I do think you get the Rockefeller Plaze buzz here but it's not as cozy and inviting as I had hoped. I will try another place next time.

Rathbun's restaurant in Inman Park is a consistently tasty destination for entertaining a loved one or clients. Chef Kevin Rathbun brings in great steaks from Kansas City, offers delectable apps and delicate seafood dishes. The pastry chef makes homemade candy bars and an ooey gooey toffee cake not to be missed. Try the dessert sampler - you won't regret it.

You have to visit the Marietta Diner for great food and lots of it. I first saw this traditional diner (I'm from NJ, the land of diners) on the Food Network show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, and was determined to eat there on my next trip down to see my best friend and goddaughter. We hooked up with my husband's cousin and her beau, and the 6 of us enjoyed a fabulous lunch. The service was great and the food was wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the Greek sampler platter; it was enough for two meals.

Friends of mine stayed in a brand new guesthouse called Margot Guesthouse on Lexington Ave and 106th street: a superb house, wonderfully renovated, very comfortable with beautiful furniture, memory foam beds and a great location a couple of blocks from what is I think the nicest part of C'l Park. A must try for any visitor to the city. And a bargain too!

I've always had a good experience staying at the Doha Marriott Hotel. The rooms are clean, the main floor restaurant serves a great breakfast and the location is second to none. A Friday - Saturday weekend rate of $200/ is my idea of "reasonable".
