About me

Hi, my name is Nazlihan but everyone calls me Nazli or Naz, I'm from Australia (yeah the kangaroo paradise). I live in Turkey and study English language teaching in Çukurova University. And for four years, I've been teaching English to children in Ç.U Nursery. It's amazing to see how good they (age 4-5) are in learning a foreign language in a classroom where their mother tongue (L1) is not used. Kids definitely are super intelligent!!! But I have to say that there are more things going on than intelligence...

My Interests: Cognitive Science, "Linguistics", Corpus Ling., Classic Literature, "ELT-children", Chomsky, He's the man!!! travelling, going out, living the best and most of life!!!

My work

One of the best parts of my education is the study of Linguistics (the human mind in acquiring a language) which is based on the complex phenomenal idea of "what is it that we know when we know a language?" and how language is acquired or learned (two of them differ from each other)in early childhood. However, I'm not talking about the several ways which language is generally defined, such as:
"Language is a means of communication"
"Language is a way of expressing feelings and thoughts"
These are not the answers linguistics is normally concerned with...There is just so much to learn about language and the human mind...Hopefully I will be uploading info about it in the following days.
