Flavonoids are plant nutrients, found in fruits and vegetable. They are non toxic, and as well, beneficial to the human body. They are widely disbursed throughout the plants and are what gives the flowers and fruits of many plants their colours. Consuming foods containing flavonoids has numerous health benefits. Recent research indicates that they reduce the risk of certain cancers, heart diseases, and some degenerative diseases, by triggering the enzymes will reduce these diseases. Foods that contain high amounts of flavonoids include, blueberries, cranberries, black berries, red beans, many of some colourful fruits and vegetable. Red wine and some teas also contain substantial amount of these phytochemicals.
