I think we need a better logo than current one. What do you think?

We have tried several so far.....I think one that connects with Opera would be good....any ideas?

I'd like to see something done with the forum....It needs some much work....and to be honest, it was too much for me. I got totally lost with it.

We just don't have the activity here or in the blog that we might have with all the members now....confused

I never expected manic activity. After all, most people would come here for help in the beginning, then wander off to other groups and blogs once they understood how things work.

I think the forums need a bit of restructuring. We don't really need a forum that's just about your Forum Signature, for example. In the Lessons section, I'd have forums about Groups, Blogs, Albums and Forums as a start point.

It is easier on the eyes

However, I'm not sure if we can use it...It was taken from Opera's Wallpaper and I just added the "newbie" stuff. Could some one check to see if its ok to use and/or alter it.....I don't know who to ask about this one.

This is the reply I got from Espen:

"Hi there!

Well, the file is public, so it's open for anyone to use, but the intention of it is only to be used as a wallpaper, not a group icon. If I were you I would personally contact the author and ask for permission. I'm sure they are happy you asked and hopefully give you permission to use ut. If not; please let me know, and maybe I can create something for you.

Cheers,

Espen A.

Now my question....do we want to use the Chipmunk?

I just got this from the designer of that wallpaper:

"Re: Your Wallpaper

From: junheldalanon
Date: 2008-05-28 14:01
Sure, no problem. That would be great and I would be honored. Thank you for considering my work."

And then he sent me this:

"Re: Your Wallpaper

From: junheldalanon
Date: 2008-05-28 14:03
You could even send me a descriptive request for a customized logo and I'll seee what I can do since I'm on vacation right now.

Hear from you soon."

I found some more that might work:

What happened with these two posts of Mik/Furie's in the Recycle Bin? Did someone make him a mod briefly?

We need to find a way of stopping the newbies from asking questions, about setting up things on their sites, in the groups blog. It defeats the purpose of having a forum if they don't use it.

Guys...I need some help with a couple of things.

1. Is there a way of making our forum available to ALL Opera without them having to go through the group?

2. I am a little confused on where to go to report some bugs in the new design. None of the images, of all the groups I Mod and am members, are showing/loading like below:

Assuming by #1 you mean making it visible in the Forum list to non-members, then this would require Opera themselves to tweak the site design and place us on a par with the Lounge.

It would be nice if they would/could. I think our forum could be used by almost everyone. And there are things we can't answer. Opera did list a link to our forum in the "Help/FAQ "

"Need help? Read the text below, or ask other My Opera members in the Newbies of Opera forums."

So that was cool
