Just awful. What was the mother thinking? Where was DOCS?
This is, in fact, what you get when a society abandons the concept od responsibility for self-determined rights.

Father 'beside himself' as 12-year-old daughter falls pregnant The Department of Community Services says it could have looked closer at the case of a 12-year-old, now pregnant and set to become one of NSW's youngest mothers, but it had to deal with more urgent cases.
The girl's mother let the child's older boyfriend move into their home when she was 11, and reportedly allowed the two to sleep in the same bed. When the girl's father, who was separated from her mother, found out about this he pleaded with DoCS staff to do something but they failed to act, Dubbo MP Dawn Fardell said.
He took custody of his daughter in March after his ex-wife was placed in a mental health unit, which was when he discovered she was pregnant, Ms Fardell told NSW Parliament in March.

Mem Fox blasts childcare
Bestselling children's author Mem Fox says people should not have babies if they can only take a few weeks off before putting them into childcare.
The Adelaide-based author of Possum Magic and Where Is The Green Sheep has told the Sunday Herald Sun she trembles when she thinks of babies being put into childcare.
"I don't know why some people have children at all if they know that they can take only a few weeks off work," she said.
"I know you want a child, and you have every right to want a child, but does the child want you if you are going to put it in child care at six weeks? I don't think the child wants you, to tell the honest truth."
Fox says she was recently talking to a Queensland childcare worker who said society would look back "and wonder how we have allowed that child abuse to happen".
"It's awful for the mothers as well," she said. "It's completely heartbreaking."

We were not smart enough to close down our Sunday School on purpose. It closed down when we were not noticing, and not really thinking about it at all.We had given up our church property because, at the time, we had left the denomination to reach out for a new future to which the Lord was directing us.
