Today's Photo

I took Alex and Rex for a walk this afternoon. Along the way we saw this very tame magpie who let us come within a couple of metres.

(This photo takes me up to 401 for the 365 project :hat: )

UPDATE: Wikipedia, the source of all knowledge tells you how to distinguish between magpies and currawongs:

Mature magpies have red eyes, in contrast to the yellow eyes of currawongs and white eyes of Australian ravens and crows. Immature birds have darker, brownish eyes.

The article doesn't tell you how to get close enough to see the colours of their eyes! I zoomed in on my photo and as far as I can tell it had light brown eyes so it's an immature magpie.

Thanks Lois. I'm having my 50th birthday in a bit over a week and a party a week later. Everyone is going to kick in to buy me a quality compact camera. I'd like one with a zillion times zoom, 200 Mega-pixels and built in electron microscope... for about $150 P:
