Anonymous # 20. November 2007, 20:32

Anonymous # 3. December 2007, 20:06
Good job Qua Tang!
I wonder why the damn Megasoft couldn't fix it themselves in the installer.
Anonymous # 9. December 2007, 23:03
PLEASE - Could you put that smwdm.sys file up somewhere else? On Files-Upload, I just get the following error:
"Sorry. You can not download this file today. Download traffic for your country is empty".
If there is somewhere else we cn put this file, it is really needed. (And ASUS doesn't care at all about their users!!)
I tried the XP, SE, and a smwdm.sys driver that said it was working on my Vista machine (but it wasn't). Nothing seemed to work! (I get the fact that it doesn't support my device!)
Thanks

This is some BS!! Asus, wtf man....I've tried installing your sound drivers from the cd supplied w/ my board, downloaded from your site and no luck whatsoever. This is downright retarded! I paid for the on-board sound and I expect it to work w/ my OS (Vista x64)!!! :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

If you get the message that the audio driver does not support your computer hardware, go into your BIOS > onboard devices and make sure your onboard audio is enabled. That fixed it for me. Many thanks to the person that made smwdm.sys file available.

thanks for ur helping !

I've found it's not the version of smwdm.sys for Vista thats needed,it's
the version for your hardware. If you have the original SoundMax driver
disk or your motherboard disk, extract smwdm.sys from the driver installation files save it somewhere on the hard drive, let Vista install
the SoundMax drivers, then go to C:\windows\system32,move smwdm.sys out
of the folder, then move the copy you saved there(don't copy as it might not be overwritten), then reboot.
Hope that works for you guys

Hi, you can download both the driver and smwdm.sys from the following link: http://64bitdrivers.com/driver.php?id=1451 entitled 'SoundMAX audio codec including smwdm.sys for Vista x64'. Evidently just for vista x64 users however. Quite a few instructions on the page on how to install.
