Topic #2: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons or examples to support your answer.
In general, teachers are people from whom we learn knowledge, get experience and receive advice. During a person's lifetime, he has a lot of relationships, meets many kinds of people. Therefore, to me, parents are not the best teachers. In this essay, I outline the "roles" of parents and reasons why they are not the best teachers.
Parents, who are our closest relatives, give birth and take care of us from the day we was born. When you were a little boy or girl, parents were always beside, made up a safe and warm environment to protect us. Therefore, we lived in a life full of love. What beautiful days they are! Moreover, parents are also trustful spirit buffer for us at all time. In my country, there is a saying said that "No place is as peaceful as mother's arms". Yes, whenever we fail, we can go home, the most peaceful place, to cry with our dear parents then be encouraged to continue.
It is undoubtedly true that parents are the most important persons to us. However, they are still not the best teachers. In some cases, parents do not have the modern opinions. They do not change their thougt to be suitable with the new generation, so that they cannot deeply understand their children. In other situations, some parents want their son to become a doctor because they admire this career, no matter what their son really loves. Thus, children have to do what their parents like, not exactly what they are fond of. Additionally, during human's life a person study from their teachers, friends, bosses, colleagues, etc... more than their parents. In fact, a person from eighteen years old, live far away from home to study in a college, then go to work, then get marriage, ... The period that they live with their parents is much shorter than the time they spend with others. As a result, "the life" teaches them most. "The life" is the best teacher.
Parents are not the best teachers but the best buffer. The life teaches us but parents give us the life. We should try to live well, happily and successfully to thank the persons who give us the chances to meet our best teacher.

Subject: A teacher, a student, and a member of the town council appear on a local TV talk show and debate whether television does more good than harm, or the reverse. The program's host invites his home audience to write in their views.
Nowadays, television becomes very useful and popular for everybody. In this essay, I analyse the benefits that television brings to us. The benefits will be disscussed in three ways: a means of transfering news, a type of entertainment, and an advertising activity.
First, television is considered as a large resource for collecting news as well as knowledge all over the world. Every minutes there are many changes and events happen in each small part of the world. How can a person approach all these things? He just needs an easy click to turn on his television. Through TV, he has a chance to open his narrow mind to a colossal sight, to update news, to expand knowledge, etc... By many training programs such as how to cook well, how to make-up, how to choose fresh vegetables... TV brings to housewives a plenty of necessary skills, understandings to care their family.
Second, television is also a type of cheap and simple entertainment for every ages. After a long and tired time of hard working, employees can come home and enjoy many films, music or game shows on TV. They also watch foolball, tennis, voleyball matches... or every other sport news they like. And children are served with cartoons, lovely songs or some short comedies, etc.. Sequently, television, with its relaxing value, becomes an essential item in every family.
Last but not least, television is considered as an effective “bridge” connecting sellers and buyers. Today, many companies register their advertisements on television to introduce products to customers. Therefore, customers have an abundance of chances to know and choose their suitable products. As a result, TV brings convenience, advantages and benefits for both vendors and purchasers.
Today, everyone needs up-to-date news, relaxes after hard stressed work and also cares about various modern products. Television serves all these things. However, all items I have discussed above do not convey the whole benefits that a television brings. It is such a great human's invention.

Topic 1:People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge) Why do you think peple attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
There is a variety of reasons or stimulations make people attend college. Some people want to study in university to get new experiences, others hope to prepare for their career, etc… However, in the whole view, they all have the same purpose when they decide to enroll a college. This is “future preparation”. In this essay, I will outline how they can prepare their future in the college’s environment.
In college, students study with many professors who have large and deep knowledge in various fields. Therefore, they have the better opportunity to approach new knowledge. Besides, from their professors, they also learn how to do research, how to logically find solutions for a complicated problem. In general, from college, students prepare necessary knowledge, skills to due with their future’s jobs.
Being far away from home, students face a new life with less care and advice from parents. Sequently, they need to start to arrange everything by themselves. Instead of being called to do homework, to have breakfast, even to go to bed, in a dorm, students have to do all these things by themselves without other’s remind. They have to care themselves, do assignments before deadline, etc… As a result, they can discover themselves and become mature.
Additionally, students will have to live with strangers, try to make and maintain friendly relationships with others. They also learn from their friends, learn how to understand, care and behave well with others who have different habits or characteristics. That is a practical preparation for their future life.
In summary, college or university creates a big chance, a “like true-social” environment for student to try to adapt and prepare themselves before entering the “real world”. Therefore, a lot of people choose the way of studying in college to gain their purpose, to have a bright future.
