MUSIC, Faff

I've got a few gigs lined up to keep myself entertained (and to stop work driving me mad). Tomorrow night is Elliot Minor ...... being a Friday, there's no work the following mornign and so I can happily consume a large quantity of alcohol with out fear of having to work with a hang-over! Although, saying that, I think the likelyhood of me going to the gym on Saturday morning is limted

Not a lot else going on ..... RPM was hard work yesterday but it felt good. I haven't really started my training for the Great West Run yet as I'm trying to build-up my core fitness before I start running again

OK, we had consumed a bottle or two of wine by the time we went to bed but by half way through Friday night we had fostered this little guy.

Done the deed and have entered myself for the Rough Ride again ........ bring on 45 miles of x-county fun/hell (and that's if the weather is dry .... a bit of rain and it's even worst!). Don't imagine that anyone apart from Barney will be joining me, so it'll just be the two of us again!

I'm confused (annoyed) as hell about my laptop and its HPwebcam. It stopped working the other day and with some (almost useful) assistance from HP Support I've spent the best part of two days trying to get it working. Eventually I got onto the phone to their support centre and was about to report a hardware failure and the damn things bursts into life ..... what a waste of my time! I could have gone to the gym last night but instead spent the entire evening faffing around with drivers and roll-backs ... Grrrrrrrr

Have been cutting down on the old caffine intake over the last few months and even at home drink decaf-coffee. However, I had a mocha in a cafe in town earlier and now I'm feeling proper spun-out

Man, I can't take my coffee anymore!

Anyway, it's not been a bad weekend. Did some work on Lisa's car yesterday (after even managing to go for a run and a quick session in the gym) and today I sorted the flat out and then popped into town. To top ot off, I'll lso be going to the gym in the next hour ..... as part of my 'getting back to full fitness' start to 2008

Work was a bit of a shitter this week but I just have to remember that we have a few gigs and a weekend in Snowdonia before the beginning of Feb

...... Yay! Still need to fit a weekend or two in for surfing though ....... soon!

Oh yeh, sorted the surf lodge out for Lisa's Birthday weekend at the start of April and already about 14 of the peeps have said they coming

I'll mention it to the surf club guys and we should have a bloody good turn-out

Looking forward to it and it's not my party

The theme for the weekend is Grease (not my idea ...... Lisa's).

I guess the first week back at work in the new year is always a crap one but this is only my 4th day back and already I'm fed-up of the place...... still being a tad sickly isn't helping matters and add to the pot the fact that as I was down in Devon all Xmas, I didn't get the work done that I needed to complete and so I'm having to jam it all in before Friday

Had a bit of a temperature last night but thought sod-it and went to RPM at the gym ...... brilliant to do some training and I didn't do too badly but man it killed me off for the rest of the evening

I was soooooo ready for my bed! Have a bunch of meetings tonight, so not 100% sure if I'll be able to get to the gym tonight - Grrrrr, being a grown-up is so dull at times!

Still, can't coplain too much - have a couple of gigs

to go to later in the month, a couple of weekends away coming up and I've also go to find a weekend or two to go surfing

Oh yeh - congrats to Gaz and Vics on becoming very proud parents for the first time ...... Yay

Can't remember where this was taken but it was one of the last times I went for a proper blast on my mountain bike:knight: Probably Wales somewhere ...... man, I need to get some fresh air beofre I go mad!

Well, 2008 has started with a variety of sniffles for me ...... and sadly I can't say that they are beer induced! Anyway, I'm sitting here doing anything but doing the work that needs to be done before returning to work on Monday ...... you'd think I'd learn but I always leave it until the last minute.

How was Xmas & New Years - family orientated but fun. Spent the longest time with my folks in about 6yrs and most importantly I survived

2008 - going to get back to full fitness and the training will start as soon as I shift this stinking cold. Also, I'm going to make the effort to see friends more frequently.

Oh yeh, did anyone actually see any snow yesterday...... as usual the news tried to freak everyone out with tales of white outs and snow storms but I didn't even see a flake

It's always sad when Christmas Day has been and gone ...

... oh well! Didn't do too badly from Old St Nick this year and can be assured that I have done the 'family thing' and am still doing the 'son thing' ........ man, it's hard work

The surf crapped out the other day, with gale force winds blowing any swell out! Will have a look at conditions tomorrow, with the hope that a drop in wind speed will allow some shape to appear along thr more sheltered beaches!

Anyway, I hope you're all having a Ho Ho Ho Christmas and that your New Years goes with a BANG

Gently tucking into another glass of wine (I'm that civilized) and thinking that I am now sorted (present wise) for Xmas and happy that everytihing is now wrapped and ready to be chucked in the car and transported down to Devon tomorrow.

Should get a few days of surfing in between Boxing Day and New Years Day ...

... looking at the weather charts, we should see some swell coming in but damn it's going to get cold!

Anyway, I might go a little quiet over the next week as I'm down at my folks ...... they have the old t'internet but with stuff going on, I'll probably not be on it as often as I am at home

Anyway .....

........ have a cracking Christmas and I'll see y'all in the New Year
