Bloody hell it's nippy out there! -8'C on the way to work this morning. Water was freezing to the screen almost instantly as I was driving along. And it's set to get colder tonight I would love it to snow but that's highly unlikely I'm afriad

Anyway, going to re-start the training tonight and will hit the gym .... far too cold to go for a run or anything outside! Going to have to get a move on as I'll be entering the Great West Run and the Rough Ride when I get around to printing the appilaction forms off. A half marathon and 75km of offroad mountain biking race with over 7,000ft of climbing Done them both before but last year I twisted my ankle a couple of weeks before the GWR and still ran (stupidly). It caused all sorts of problems and made it impossible for me to ride the Rough Ride the following month. This time I'm hoping to avoid stupid injuries and complete both evens in good times ...... about 1hr 45mins for the half marathon and around 7hrs for the Rough Ride

Got a note from the landlord of the apartment below us last night saying that their flat has a bit moist from a leak somewhere and it could be coming from my apartment. Popped down to see what he was talking about and bloodyhell, there was water all over the place .... a 'slight leak' my arse! Absolutely crapping myself that if it was water coming from my place I was going to be in receipt of a hefty plumbing and decorating bill.

...... anyway, as I thought when I looked at the state of their boiler, the water was coming from the thing leaking left-right-and-centre. The carpet was so wet because the thing was continually filling up and over-flowing onto the floor. I tad cheeky for the landlord to ask if the water was coming from me and giving me a stressful nights sleep

Now a tad paranoid about my place leaking while I'm away over New Years and so I'm getting the guy working on downstairs apartment to check my boiler out ..... just to be safe

Not long now until Xmas ..... one more day at work (not including today) and then that's it for me until the New Year
Getting up this morning was a real struggle. Tilly (the dog) jumped on the bed as the alarm went off and I think if it wasn't for her nudging to be let out I would have happy stayed in bed.
So looking forward to the Xmas break. Still not feeling overly festive but I have a feeling it's going to be a good-un this year

A visit to the gym later and then an early night as a load of us are heading into Oxford tomorrow after work for drinks and merryment

Must remember to grab the camera before hitting the road after work today. Tomorrow night in the Woolacombe Longboarders Surf Club Xmas Party. It's a fancy dress affair with the only rule being 'Retro'. Confused quite a few folk but I think everyone has now got themselves sorted Me ..... I'm going to as - well, I'll let you know after the weekend!
A good few of us are gathering and Sophias is a great place to start the night .... they've even opened-up just for us (most of Woolly closes for the winter season as only fools like myself hit the beach in freezing conditions).

----------- SURF REPORT-----------

Talking of hitting the beach, the surf isn't looking half bad for the weekend ahead. It's a bit messy and blown-out at the moment but the wind should drop over the next 24hrs and leave us with a decent bit of clean swell to play with. 2-3ft and getting cleaner on Saturday and 1-2ft and pretty clean on Sunday The only down-side is that it's going to be fecking cold ...... 10'C water temp and temperatures ranging from -1'C to 5'C on the land - Brrrrrr Although on the up-side, the crappy rain should also move on and leave us with some nice sunshine over the entire weekend.

The festive feeling is starting to build ..... popped up into the loft earlier this evening and put the tree up in the livingroom
