How to swim from Norway to the USA

As many of you might know Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO in Opera Software, has promised to swim from Norway to the USA if the Opera Browser version 8 is downloaded 1.000.000 times during the 96 hours after launch.

A bold promise some might argue, but that is probably before they discover the cunning plan set by Jon. I mean, such a smart browser like Opera certainly would have an ingenious CEO.

Lucky for you, I've got hand of the details and I'm able to disclose them here. Please do not pass this on as it would ruin the whole secret. PS. the plan is in the SVG format so it might require you to download Opera 8 first:

It turns the browser was downloaded 1,050,000 times.

I hope that this plan is true-that way all of us who downloaded Opera 8 won't have the death of the CEO on our consciences!:smile:

That makes it a lucky thing that they reached the million downloads then!

Would the plan have fizzled away if they didn't, or would he have done it anyway?

Hope you don't mind me posting the svgz on slashdot. But hey, if I hadn't, it would have never sparked the whole "what's up with this file?" Heh, thanks to you, I've learned something new.

Anyway, this last Slashdot article had impressively positive comments. And if it helps getting SVG out there it's great :wink:
