This month’s
Accretionary Wedge Carnival is now up at
Harmonic Tremors. The theme is
significant geological events. The timing is very appropriate as 22 May is the anniversary of the 1960 magnitude 9.5 Valdivia, Chile earthquake, the largest ever recorded. A month ago I happened to have a
post about that event. A month too early I realise now. Sorry about that.
My post for the ninth Accretionary Wedge Carnival is about the
Mount Toba eruption.
All the carnival posts are of course as usual superb. My own favourite is
Cenozoic magmatism and the subduction of the Farallon slab at Magma Cum Laude. I am green with envy.
