H1N1 Flu Vaccine Contains Mercury
Monday, 10. August 2009, 17:24:33
Update of 11 October 2009: A review of published research shows that there is not convincing scientific evidence supporting a relationship between vaccines and autism. See my post here.
Read here what WHO thinks about thiomersal.
In Danish:
PS of 16 September 2009:
It now seems that in far the most cases one dose of the vaccine stimulates an appropriate immune response. For 1 dose vials (contrary to 10 packs) thiomersal is not necessary, and flu vaccine without mercury is now produced and available.

Thank you very much for your important remarks, which I appreciate.
First of all I agree with your two points:
1. That there is no conclusive evidence or proof of a link between vaccines and autism.
2. It is scandalous, when parents for whatever reason - be it religious reasons or lack of trust in medical care - refuse to vaccinate their children and so put others at risk of serious diseases. - And it is a fact that several people have died from, and that even more will die from the current flu.
This is also in line with the advice/recommendation from WHO - to which I linked in my post.
Next, I suppose that you can agree with me, that mercury is an extremely toxic heavy metal, and that we should avoid any use and thereby also mining/production of mercury wherever possible. In the present pandemic situation it has for various, and certainly valid, reasons proven impossible to avoid thimerosol (also known as thiomersal, thimerosal, mercurothiolate and sodium 2-ethylmercuriothio-benzoate).
A fact is that some national public health authorities are striving to replace thiomersal-containing vaccines as a precautionary measure. As mentioned in the Danish link in my post, Denmark has not used or allowed use of thiomersal in ANY vaccine since the autumn of 2004. Denmark has, however made an exception in this special case. EU as a whole, and the Scandinavian countries in particular are doing a large effort to phase out mercury
Some preservative is necessary to prevent bacterial and fungal growth in some vaccines, like flu vaccines, during storage. My simple wish is that pharmaceutical research laboratories look out for other/alternative preservatives, that are even effective. And I stress alternatives that do not involve other, possibly worse, side effects.
Finally I see the World Health Organisation as the best organisation I can refer to in health matters, and hoped that my link to WHO would “neutralise” some of the “exposure” to Associated Content. On the other hand it is nice to see somebody reacting, so thank you. (I can by the way assure you that the Danish article, I referred to, was much more neutral)
OK - next time I shall try to be more careful with my links, although I believe that a little bit of provocation may be sound? The problem is to find the limit.
