Mayon Volcano, the Philippines

According to the latest Mayon Volcano Bulletin (of 22 August) Mayon is still showing “a high level of unrest” after a few weeks of heavy activity and evacuation of around 45,000 people. Alert Level 4 is still maintained, which means that hazardous explosive eruptions are still possible.

The stratovolcano Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines. Since 1616, Mayon has erupted 47 times.
