Vincent Minellinin yönettiği 1965 yılı filmin başrollerinde Elizabeth Taylor ve Richard Burton yer almaktadır.Film kısaca bir yasak aşkı konu eder."Genç Danny Reynolds ve annesi Laura (Elizabeth Taylor) California Big Sur'a yakın bir yerde sessiz sakin bir hayat sürmektedirler. Danny annesi Laura tarafından evde eğitilmektedir. Danny bir geyiği vurduktan sonra yetkililer Danny'yi annesinden alarak kiliseye bağlı bir yetimhaneye okuması ve orada yaşaması için gönderirler. Bekar annesi bu durum karşısında perişan olur. Başlangıçta okul yöneticisi episkopal Dr.Hewitt (Richard Burton) özgür ruhlu Laura'yı ahlaktan yoksun ve bazı iyi özelliklerden mahrum bulur. Zamanla Laura ve Dr.Hewitt birbirlerine aşık olurlar ve yasak bir ilişi yaşamaya başlarlar."
