Калиакра рок фест 2009

И тази година мястото е Каварна (28.338783,43.434535), а рока все още жив. Само, че тази година няма да пропусна Калиакра рок фест: Тръгваме на 1-ви юли и до 3-ти няма да спираме да крещим. Ще се спи в палатка, да се надяваме ще се справим с разпъването. Единствения проблем е как ще изстудяваме бирата.

Microsoft Days 2009

Microsoft Days 2009 in Bulgaria were very nice. We cannot expect too perfect of an organisation, but still it felt good and comfortable to be there. A few things to learn - wish there where more elaborate lectures.

I did a demo on one of the lectures - on IE8. It was about accelerators and web slices. I was helping Georgi from Microsoft Bulgaria with his presentation. It went very well and hope that people learned new things in a fun way.

Kavarna Rock Fest; Sonata Arctica; John Lawton

A tradition is difficult to be established. Nevertheless in recent years Kavarna has become a center place for rock in Bulgaria. I couldn't be more proud of this as a Bulgarian. And on the 6th May 2008 I felt it even more powerfully. Sonata Arctica were in Bulgaria for the first time and we liked them. It was cool, great, cruel and magic. Photos will follow up. For this we needed to travel 1000 km with 3 hour sleep in the car, but it was worth it. The band was great and the supporting BTR where not any worse.
John Lawton, the Uriah Heep frontman, was become a sort of a tradition too. July morning has promised to be an awsome time. Looking forward to it.

Graduation

To become an engineer
I know, I know... I haven't posted anything for an eternity.
Still there are many things to say, tell, elaborate on, share... and here is one!

On 28. September 2007 I successfully defended a batchelor degree(not sure if this is the best spelling) and will be known from this day on Dipl. Ing. Nikodim Lazarov. Thank you!!! Thank you!!!

Photos will be posted soon - still need some finishing(Photoshop) touches.

The celebration itself will take place in the Technical University, Building 2 on 30. November, 9:30 o'clock.

Bug in Microsoft Internet Explorer disappearing opacity

During a test run of a project at work I came across a very exciting bug in Internet Explorer 6 - still haven't tested on 7, but 6 is currently more popular.

Here is the bug:
When one has created a div element and sets the width = height = 10021 and assigns an opacity filter like this - filter: alpha(opacity=50) the opacity looks great.

The bug reveals itself when the width and height are increases with one or more, i.e. 10022+. The opacity disappears.

I can't explain why is this happening - maybe I should ask Microsoft... some day. wink
I suppose it has troubles rendering opacity objects - which is not anything new for them.
