Analysis and Conclusion. Here is the last post devoted to
breaking stereotypes in music players sphere. Thanks to everyone for voting for your favorite player and to my constant readers who have left inspiring comments. Special thanks to Xyanide for his post
post on audio codecs and constant participation in the discussion.
For the past four weeks we have seen
six players that can be
a strong alternative to ubiqutious iTunes, WMP and Winamp. Not only do they have similar set of features, but
usualy outrun big players. Based on the
google trends analysis,
Winamp has lost its positions on the market due to slow and non-innovative development. As usually go and grab a copy of
Tray Player. After installing this little thing, in your tray you'll see something like this:

Perfect Match: OrangeCD Catalog & Spider PlayerToday I'll enlighten you on two players that can be used separetly, but used together are much more powerful. We'll start with
OrangeCD Catalog and proceed to
Spider Player.
OrangeCD CatalogOrangeCD Catolog comes in a suite with OrangeCD Player, but the latter doesn't do much - just plays CDs, so it's not of great interest for us. Let's focus on OrangeCD Catalog. This tool is
one of the best in its niche. As may be seen from the name OrangeCD Catalog is used to
organize your muisc. The engine is build on
native database which is
tied to IE and a has nice GUI.
Once
downloaded, installed, and media library scanned you will see something like this:
