,

H00ray! It's not the most information-rich list ever, but there are some gems. I'd have doubled the length, but I became tired. Have fun!

  • Hulk Hogan. Oy. Still, he's taking it from behind in his divorce. It's costing him $50,000 a month in legal fes and clothes and jewelry for his soon-to-be ex-wife. I guess, when it comes down to it, that's only a half million or so a year...

  • The Republican Vice Presidential nominee got a good laugh at the Convention the other day, at the expense of "community activitsts." Of course, wealthy neighborhoods, such as the one she lives in (and the seven that Senator McCain lives in) don't really need activists. The funniest thing, as far as I am concerned, is that she energized the Christian Right with these remarks. Hard to ignore the fact that JESUS CHRIST was a community activist, isn't it?

  • Spiders don't usually bother me, but this one makes me glad that it wasn't in my kitchen. Yikes!

  • Remember when you could fly without being searched? Now you can't even go to the movies... Grannies tossed from movie theater for refusing to submit to search. This abrogation of basic rights will not go wihout response from the masses! What? It was in New Zealand? Nevermind...

  • If you're a celebrity, one of the perks is having new species named after you. Check out number one.

  • Road trip!!! Seriously. We'll have to take a plane - some of the road is underwater - but it's a trip worth making!

  • Dare I say it? Another road trip!

  • Stem cells: not just for spinal cord injuries and organ regeneration anymore. If you really want to get some action out of Conress on stem cell research, you should spontaneously generate bigger breasts! W00t!

  • Calfornia has copyrighted their state laws. You can't publish or copy it without subjecting yourself to serious penalties. You can buy it. For $1550. Seems illegal to keep the laws from the people they govern. Link goes to a fellow who is challenging the law. My new hero.

  • Grammar Nazis tell you how it ought to be!

  • Nothing like a little body modification to make you cat-like and stealthy.

  • If you are a cross-dressing purse snatcher, the Port St. Lucie police would like to return the fake breast you lost while you were jacking that lady's handbag.

  • Find a cool lame t-shirt. I lost the original link  I hate when that happens.

  • SoundUnwound: a new music information site that you edit, from the good folks at Amazon and IMDB. It's a Wiki, but it's not quite like Wikipedia. Information is still sparse, but it seems to be filling it. It's gonna get very cool - and will contain a great depth and breadth of information about your favorite bands. And some bands you've never heard of.

  • It's hurricane season, and you can track 'em as they happen with StormPulse. You can also follow the paths of historic hurricanes.

  • The new Open Office Suite is here. Of course, I'm all over that. I love Open Office!

  • The simplest weather report ever. This kills me. Simple, and sweet. Genius!

  • Clowns are creepy. Affiliation with Jesus doesn't help.

  • Two great tastes that go great together.

  • Like the Muppets? Like cake? Dig in!

  • Six pack abs. LMAO. Now that's marketing savvy!

  • DIY:

Linda Bollea reports spending $7,000 on clothing, $7,500 on maid service and about $1,700 on jewelry each month.

How the hell does she manage?

• I don't mind spiders so much anymore...but if their hair is longer than mine, I'm outta there!

• Illicit snacks...

• Why does the term "Man Drought" make me belly laugh?!

• w00h00 f0r bewbs!!!

• Seig Heil! Grammar Nazis pwn.

• I wanna punch the man/cat in the chops. :irked:

 I  Umbrella Today!

• Vodka: The other, other white meat!

:o: Awesome muppets cakes!

• I gotta get me a six-pack coffee sling thing!

• My cat already has a chaise lounge! :left: (The cardboard one is killer, though...and wouldn't break a toe if kicked!)

• The perfect Martini is a cup of coffee.

• I have GOT to make a macro lens!

 I cannot wait to play Scrabble again!

Matthew, did you notice item #12 in the Grammar Nazis piece?

I'm just saying.

noah counte 9. September 2008, 04:12

 Where did I screw that up?

ellinidata 9. September 2008, 11:14

I better hurry up and enjoy this long treasure before they activate the The particle accelerator at CERN.
(they mentioned middle of the day ),

I just saw your status! I will stick with pbdbdq it is easier to remember

noah counte 9. September 2008, 12:18

I'm going Cobrastyle with the new status.

pbdbdq is pretty clever. The first three letters are his initials, the second three are a mirror image of the first three.

ellinidata 9. September 2008, 12:35

I am a big fan of pbdbdq!
(thanks to you  )

I was never able to write the mirror style( Naomi had a post on it , in early July),
we did discuss the studies there,
it is amazing to me of how the brain is able to work!
some people are good on it!

ripp2002 9. September 2008, 13:53

Damn, that is a nasty spider :yikes:

noah counte 9. September 2008, 14:08

 How was your vacation, LC?

noah counte 9. September 2008, 14:10

I'll tell pbd that you like his dbq, Angeliki.

ripp2002 9. September 2008, 15:25

I didnt have a vacation. I have spent the last 10 days processing all my paperwork for school, getting classes, doing orientation, vaccination, financial aid crap, so I could start classes tomorrow with the rest of the school.

I need a vacation though. Shit, I need a lot more than that...

noah counte 9. September 2008, 16:33

I'm glad you're all set for tomorrow. It's a new world!

ripp2002 9. September 2008, 16:48

I am getting there. I am excited but really nervous about attending a real school. Assentially I am more concerned about screwing up my plan...

noah counte 9. September 2008, 16:57

You'll be fine. Remember, you've got a lot of life experience that led you to believe that this is the time for you to take this path. A lot of those kids are there because it's the thing to do. Your reasons for being there will propel you.

ripp2002 9. September 2008, 17:04

:eyes:

Why thank you!!! Very good words.

Nerak 9. September 2008, 17:13

:sst: Still waiting for James to enlighten us!

noah counte 9. September 2008, 17:13

I believe it's true. I'm surrounded by kids whose parents pay for them to come party and drink, and for whom school is mostly in the way.

ellinidata 9. September 2008, 18:51

Good luck LC !
just remember how excited you were when you got the good news of your acceptance!
the rest will become a routine..I wish I could go back again,
I love going to school.

@ Matt,
I enjoy pbd big time
he makes my brakes from some difficult situations
to feel less stressful;
pls congratulate him for his great choices too!
thanks!

noah counte 9. September 2008, 19:03

James has left us high and dry! Though maybe he's just trying to spare my feelings...

I hate school... until I'm out of it for a couple of years. Then I want to go back! The real world sucks!

He's an artiste, when he's not working for The Man, Angeliki.

ellinidata 9. September 2008, 19:06

yes, it does suck!

what ever he does , it works for me!

unlisted 9. September 2008, 19:54

Seriously, Matthew, I've seen it a few times on your blog here, albeit no recently. I'll start combing the archives while you batten down the grammar hatches.

Super Grammar Friends, away!

noah counte 9. September 2008, 20:03

Hahaha. I mistype "it's" and "its" all the time. I try really hard to catch it, but self editing is not always as productive as I'd like it to be. I know the rule, my fingers just do what they want, and spell check doesn't catch it.

Don't worry about the archives - I can live with mediocrity.

ellinidata 9. September 2008, 20:49

hahahaha

I have a friend that misspells "tits" to "its"
I think his t is sticky

ripp2002 10. September 2008, 00:10

 I do agree that the real world sucks... I think most of the kids I have gone to school with remind me of me the first time around Homer: Doh! complete fucking idiots...

noah counte 10. September 2008, 00:25

Hehehe. You were definately not alone in the idiot department.

ripp2002 10. September 2008, 02:29

Homer: Doh! Like I am alone now in that department...

noah counte 10. September 2008, 02:30

:left:

qlue 10. September 2008, 20:13

Some more info on the spider. It seems that Viagra may soon be obsolete.

noah counte 10. September 2008, 20:52

Man, if I was going to have an "hours long erection," I sure wouldn't want to waste it in the ER. That's a good news/bad news situation.

ripp2002 11. September 2008, 01:38

 I read an article about a spider that did that but didnt think it could kill you as well... Homer: Doh! at least you might die happy

Great pick up line. I just got bit by this spider, if we have sex it will save my life

noah counte 11. September 2008, 01:57

Or "I was just bitten by this spider, and I'd like to use my last erection with you." What woman could say no to that?

ripp2002 11. September 2008, 18:28

Sadly, yours is a better line than mine; obviously since I am still single

noah counte 11. September 2008, 18:33

 Not a day goes by that I don't envy you.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 01:09

 More people tell me that then you would imagine. Sadly, it does get old every once in a while

What is worse is that I look around and see all these idiots with wifes etc... Shit I have a hard time making it past 3 weeks with a woman  they do something stupid and I am like :eyes: are you really that stupid... later. Homer: Doh!

noah counte 12. September 2008, 02:00

Haha. Well, if it wasn't them doing somethign stupid, it would be you. It's always someone - that's the way of relationships. They work when you can both figure out how to get past the stupid stuff.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 02:05

Homer: Doh! damn, I will be forever single...

noah counte 12. September 2008, 02:10

I doubt it. But the older I get, the more I realize there are worse things than being single. There aer few things better than being in a relationship that is working right, though.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 02:32

Ok, well on that note I am heading to bed. I have a 6:20 train in the morning

noah counte 12. September 2008, 02:42

See? I told you school was fun!

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 15:04

ya; real fun...

Sadly the highlight of my week has been one really hot lady talking to me... Sadly it was because she was too fucking stupid to open the lock on her locker...

noah counte 12. September 2008, 15:15

Hahaha. That's what she wants you to believe. It was all pretext to get your attention. Little did she know that you require brains, in addition to hottness.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 15:34

 Sadly, I wish that was her intention... She tried for like 10 minutes as I was at my locked. I offered to do it for her but she thought I was going to steal her shit

noah counte 12. September 2008, 15:36

hahaha

People are conditioned for the worst. So, what did you get, anything good?

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 15:41

 NO! Litterally after I walked her through the left and rights for 5 minutes and how many times to turn the dial she finally got it opened... By that time I was trying to run down the hall because I felt my IQ dropping drastically Homer: Doh! it is only 12 to start I mean shit...

noah counte 12. September 2008, 15:52

 Any drop from 12 is drastic.

Did you make her a note, so she can get it again next time? Remember how much you sweat your acceptance to school? Apparently, being able to open a combination lock isn't a prerequisite.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 19:40

No shit!!! That is even worse; they seem to accept anyone

noah counte 12. September 2008, 19:45

All that worry for nothing. Though you're not just anyone.

ripp2002 12. September 2008, 19:56

I am not even commenting on that part Homer: Doh!

Off to catch another train back out of the big city...

qlue 13. September 2008, 03:34

Combination locks can be tricky, esp. those dodgey cheap chinese ones. :left:

noah counte 13. September 2008, 03:37

Hahaha. I had one of those that I didn't even need to spin the dail. Just a firm grasp and a great yank.

ripp2002 13. September 2008, 03:39

 not cheapy ones; the typical master combination lock  just stupid...
